3 weeks late and a negative test! :( help please

Hiya everyone, I'm new on here.

I am 3 weeks and 1 day late for my period. I done a pregnancy test today and it came up negative. I'm feeling some symptoms. I'm craving different foods, my sense of smell is very high, i've been getting slight cramps for a few weeks now but no sign of my period. Just so confused!!

Has anyone else tested negative before and done tests again after and turnt out positive? What symptoms did you have ?

I really want it to be positive.

I had something similar with my first (only) pregnancy. My period was late and I did 3 hpt's which all came back negative. I just assumed that my cycle was screwed up and didn't test again until 3 weeks later when I suddenly started to feel VERY sick all of a sudden. At that point I got a BFP.

With hindsight, there were some signs. I'm usually freezing, especially at work but during that 3 week period, I was walking around in a short sleeve top because I was too hot with my jacket on. I guess I didn't put two and two together as I'd had negative hpt's. I also had a 2 day implantation bleed which I thought was a light period.

I may sound a little dim (I promise you I'm not) but I got pregnant on my first cycle of trying and hadn't done a lot of reading about conception. Sadly I had a mc and lost my baby but thought it would be useful to share my experiences of testing as I don't think it's hugely unusual to get a negative result in the early stages.

Will keep my fingers crossed that you get that BFP. It may be worth waiting another week and then testing again, just to give your hormone levels a chance to rise.
