Hey, I'm new hope you don't mind me joining

a little of our history..... weve been ttc for 15 months, Ive been diagnosed with PCO and weve been put on clomid. Weve just had our first cycle and I got my period yesterday, gutting as we had sex all the time! Although suppose there wasnt a big chance it was going to happen the 1st month. So back to the drawing board, taking clomid today. Awaiting the results of the day 21 bloods, really hope I start ovulating soon.

Would I be able to ask a few questions of people who are going through the same?

This period is very light is this normal?
How do you cope with the disapointment every month?

Alexandra6 - thanks, here's hoping that 100g will do the trick, how come you are scanned on day 18? That seems very late, I've just booked in for day 11, then bloods at day 21.

Picklestar - I'm afraid it doesn't get easier, just make sure you keep your self busy with other non ttc stuff.

I was scanned on day 8, nothing to see, then day 13, a small follie amongst all the tiny PCOS ones but it wasn't big enough so they got me back on cd18 to see and it's now 18mm. Slow growing I know, not sure if that means it won't mature properly but he sent me away to dtd and use OPKs

However worryingly he then gave me two more cycles of clomid, 50mg, and wished me luck! Erm is that it for the monitoring then?! Should I insist on blood tests and scans each cycle, do you think? And how can he be sure this follie will release an egg and 50mg is working?!

Anyway woop am so happy something seems to look promising! Any advice would help, thanks

Hi pickle! Some people do only get bloods done it depends on who they see. I had scan and bloods on first but I'm not having any now even tho I keep pestering them to do bloods they just refuse too! If your concerned ask why you aren't bein scanned ad if you can be. Hi everyone!

Is it normal to have a really light period? Do you have a certain time of day when you take clomid?

Alex don't just take your tablets an go away lovely demand them to monitor you in some sort of way weather bloods an scan or just bloods you need to no if you are responding to clomid an to that dose I get scanned every month an cd 21 bloods even cd27 bloods if I don't show ovulation on cd21 I have just been upped to 100mg because I was ovulating but my pregest levels could be higher my consultant said my levels have been in the 40s but he said he can get them higher .... Pickle welcome lovely I have notice my periods have gone a bit lighter since starting clomid and I always took my clomid of a night I read that you slept through most of the side effects that way hunny and Sarah is right just try an busy yourself as much as you can try not breath an sleep ttc every minute of the day I no it's so hard but the less you stress about it the better good luck lovely always hear if you need a chat am on my 4th cycle just upped to 100mg I already have 1 ds been trying for a sibling for him ever since he was born 9 yrs I conceived naturally with him only just got the corage last year to go for help its such a hard jorney but we r all hear for each other x

Mine have gotten heavier but I know a few people that have had lighter, it's just how your body responds to it. I take mine just before going to bed that way you sleep through most of the side effects

Ladies I wonder whether you can help me - AF kinda started today, not at all heavy, and kinda brownish!!! (Sorry for the details) should I count today as day 1 or wait and count tomorrow as day one take clomid on wed?? Your help and advice is really appreciated.

I can't remember what I did the last two cycles, I've had a v long cycle so can't remember!

Alex I had two scans and 21 bloods done on all 4 cycles but about to start my 5th with no monitoring as my last cycle showed i ovulated and according to them that's what clomids job is to do, and that's that! I am temping to see if I can see if I actually ovulate on my own. I would encourage anyone using clomid to ask to be monitored. Without monitoring your ovaries can over stimulate and if your already ovulating clomid can decrease fertility.

Still waiting for af , had a temperature drop yesterday, so thought af was on her way today, but this morning temperature up again
Sarah My af has been different each month and cycles have all been different too.

Alaa don't count your brownish day as cd 1 hunny it's got to be full red flow good luck xxx... Mumalah Elo hope you are ok what dose r u on this cycle lovely an you are so right to say we need monitoring on clomid the scans an bloods are so important it's a fertility treatment and scans tablets bloods all go together they should never stop even if our bodies show we r responding to clomid an we ovulate the scans show the size of the follies an then we r given advice as to when to get together and then the bloods give us proof that we did ovulate that is treatment to me not just given tablets an sent on your merry way girls who don't get scans an bloods demand them don't give up till you get them I am scanned and blood tested every cycle big hugs all and good luck x

Hi Meluv I'm on 100mg again this month. Only this cycle and next left, so time is running out. Temperature drop again this morn, so wish af would hurry up so I can get on with it! I have had a month off if you remember due to my stupid 19 day cycle last month, so I'm keen to get back to it!

I do remember now Hun ya how's many months were you on 50 for an how long have I been in 100mg Hun sorry if I have already asked that many on hear can't keep up lol did you have any big changes on 100mg only asking cause this is my go at 100mg I've got scan on Thursday morning Hun x

I had one month of 50mg and 3 of 100mg. I had side effects with 50mg but not 100mg
Good luck with your scan, wish I was still having them. Im going to ask if I can at least have 21 bloods done this month.
Still waiting for af to arrive , better not be a bloody 43 day cycle this month!

Was literally over the moon when I got a smiley face on my OPK today! This combined with the fact they saw an 18mm follie on my scan yesterday must mean I actually ovulated right?! I don't have any EWCM though...I know clomid dries it up cm a bit, but does that sounds strange and could it mean the ov stick was wrong?!?

Hi alex Thats great about positive opk! Your follie sounds good size too. I think they usually burst between 20 and 24mm, and normally ovulate anything between 12 and 48hrs after a positive opk. So I hope your not reading this tonight and are busy dtd ! Preseed does wonders to mimic cm. I dont think your opk is wrong, its just telling you you have the lh surge , which happens just before ovulation occurs. Good luck !

Thanks mumalah I'm new to all this ovulation business though, I didn't know the smiley face comes before ovulation, I thought around the time it was happening (despite my hours of googling fertility stuff, I've somehow missed that - probably because I never get positive OPK's!) Anyway I dtd tonight (the MINUTE DH walked through the door) and also last night - reckon we should go again tomorrow night or leave until Thurs?!

Good girl Alex, talk about wasting no time ! The positive indicates its about to happen, so if it was neg yesterday then the time frame should start from today. I went through a phase of not getting positives, then through a phase of getting positives and not ovulating. I don't think my body knows what its doing! On my 1st round of clomid I was advised everyday from my scan and 2nd round every other day, so I think its personally choice(and energy)! I have read that every other day gives time to produce stronger faster sperm, but I think its such a short time frame, im going to cram as much as i possibly can in !Good luck!!!

It doesn't sound like OPK's are that reliable then? Hopefully that combined with the scan and blood tests next week will be enough to confirm ovulation though. Of course a BFP would be an amazing way to confirm it hey? I had a negative yesterday around 3pm, then a positive today at 12pm, followed by a negative at 7pm. So hopefully the surge came overnight and this morning? It's such a pain we have to go through all this just to get to the starting point for most people of ovulatory cycles!

Well they seem to be working for me at the moment, i buy a pkt of 25 of ebay for about a fiver. I was using the smiley ones when blood tests confirmed no ovulation. So with this many i can poas however much I like ! I would dtd for a few more days yet just to make sure you catch that egg! I thought clomid would make some sort of miracle happen, i had to wait 5 months to get it !

Ok I will dtd as much as I can in the next few days to be on the safe side! Hope this is your lucky month mumalah - tell them to give you the blood test too!

How is everyone? Any news?

I'm currently cd29 and af is due in 2days, I was having really bad cramps last week which have now stopped and have really sore boobs. I'm tryin to put off testing till Saturday but findin it hard lol.

Today I'm starting my first clomid at 100g, hand my scan booked for next Friday, day 11. I have also just bought heaps of opk's and a thermometer so any advice is really appreciated. ie when to use the opk's and what I'm looking for in my temp??? Think I'll need to do a lot oh googling tonight.
