npg1 · 19/02/2013 18:08

I feel really fed up and down at the moment. TTC for over a year, got PCOS have got 2 children from previous relationship.

I am also a childminder and having a bad day today!

Just finished taking my 3rd round of clomid, 50mg and 1 follicle on first scan. I had a MC august and all I keep thinking about is I have to be pregnant by may because im worried how I will feel (plus one of my best friends is due on the date I should have been!)

So 2 rounds of clomid have made no difference and I hate stressing about when to do it, taking temp, poas all time etc etc. Its so nice when I have a period that I know I havent got to worry for a couple of weeks. Its making me so depressed I just dont know what to do. Has anyone been in a similar situation?

Annalou84 · 19/02/2013 18:59

Hi npg1 I feel the same I had 1 round of 50mg and 2 rounds of 100mg and still not pregnant. I've been off clomid for 2 months now, I went to see a specialist at the end of jan and he's not willing to help me until I've lost 3 stone it's just shit and I hate it and its getting me so down. I have managed to get a positive on my ovulation sticks this month which is a miracle but I've got my usual period cramps so I know it's not looking good. I don't know how long I can cope this for. The weight us coming off slowly but I have a good 4 months yet before I can get back on the clomid.

npg1 · 19/02/2013 19:39

Hi Anna. Thats rubbish, im sorry for you. So they want you to lose 3 stone? poor you. As I said I have been on clomid and this is my third cycle, I really thought would be pregnant by now but no and just dont think I can face another month of trying.

I have this cycle go through. I have an appointment in april to discuss further whats going to happen but i dont know whats going to happen. I dont think I fancy another 3 cycles. arghhhhhhh its so hard

Soph80 · 19/02/2013 21:42

I'm on my second round but really wondering whether there is a point as was already ovulating! x

Meluv · 19/02/2013 22:19

Sophie can't understand y u have been given clomid if u already ovulate alone lovely who prescribed u with it sounds mad to me x

slippysnow · 20/02/2013 09:52

Soph80 have you had a HYCOSY? have they done all the other investigations before giving you clomid? They think I was ovulating before and still prescribed clomid

Going to test again later Hmm

slippysnow · 20/02/2013 10:00

Annalou84 Have you tried a more extreme style of weight loss just to shed it quicker. A friend of mine did one of those milkshake diets (not slimfast) and lost stones within 3 months. I know they are not recommended by doctors, but they are out there, (albeit quite expensive). But, it might work, and then once weight is lost eat healthier and your stomach will have shrunk so you wont get as hungry as often.
-just a thought. :)

Alexandra6 · 20/02/2013 10:56

Hi I'm new to the clomid crew, on my first cycle now and about to take the 5th tablet, really hoping it works! I don't think I ovulate without it and have PCOS. Will try to read back a bit to see how everyone is doing on here.

slippy I replied to your other post about HyCoSy, just wanted to say GOOD LUCK for your testing today! Fingers crossed. Your will power is much better than mine, I'd be POAS every five mins! x

slippysnow · 20/02/2013 11:01

haha, thanks Alexandra I used to POAS all the time, got expensive and depressing. I've got positive thoughts for later, I feel different this time (Famous last words!)
I really hope it works out for you first time round, I think what really helped for me is being able to physically see (via scan) that things were progressing how they should, after 2 years I thought something was going to be blocked or something sinister was lurking about. Maybe you will feel the same after the scan :)

Alexandra6 · 20/02/2013 11:34

My scan to check on the follicles is this Friday (eek) day 8 - not sure if that's too early to see whether I will ovulate or not for sure? (Can they even tell that from the clomid scan?!) Maybe they'll get me back in for another scan too? OPK's have never showed positive for me so would be amazing to get a smiley face on one and be able to actually have a go at getting pregnant!

slippysnow · 20/02/2013 11:50

It's too early to show ovulation, it just shows the thickness of your lining (ready/or not for implantation) and whether the clomid has stimulated follicles which (correct me if I'm wrong someone) but these release the egg when they reach the right size.
I was told I had two in the right ovary that were ready to pop -or the scientific word for it, and a smaller one in my left which would fail to produce an egg at the right time. I was scanned on a thursday and she said due to the size of them I would be most fertile on the sat so get busy on the days nearest but mainly sat.

Disclaimer, I am no doctor, I also have a poor memory so some of this may be wrong but at least you get the gist :)

Alexandra6 · 20/02/2013 15:17

Thanks slippy ooh I hope my follicles are about to pop when I go for my scan!

Weirdly I have a bit of a dull pain in my stomach, quite high up and just slightly to one side? Only just finished clomid today so can't be ov pains. Has anyone else had that?!

Looking forward to hearing your POAS news slippy

slippysnow · 20/02/2013 19:47

it's official, :):):):):):):):) 2-3 weeks, so the test says. 26 months and the day finally comes :):) it appears that clomid works, keep calm and carry on!

Soph80 · 20/02/2013 20:10

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! This is great news!!!!! This is such an inspiration that it could happen for the rest of us too :-)

xxxxxxxxxxxx

Soph80 · 20/02/2013 20:14

slippy - will you summarise everything you did this month? I need inspiring! xxx

slippysnow · 20/02/2013 20:37

Thanks for your support! :)
Well, all I did was avoided drinks as soon as I started the clomid. I was very relaxed, kind of thought clomid would fail for me, especially not 1st round anyway. As I said to alexandra it made me feel so much better when I saw everything was ok on the scan I relaxed. We dtd on the days we was recommended. Twice on the sat, didn't put my legs in the air ;)

Soph80 · 20/02/2013 20:46

oh god I can't wait to have sex and not put my legs in the air lol. Can I ask what round of clomid it was?

By the way, in answer to your question, I had a HSG and everything was ok x

Alexandra6 · 20/02/2013 20:48

WOOOOOOOOOP! Yay slippy you must be over the moon!

So did you drink at all? I've cut down a lot but am still having the odd glass or two. Also, did you talk to you DP/DH about ovulation times etc, my DH was laughing earlier when I was talking about ovulation timings, saying "I'm not a machine" (apparently Rodney in only fools and horses once said that). He was laughing but not sure if I'm putting too much pressure on by making a big thing out of the clomid. Also, I told him off for drinking too much last night and even said he might have abnormal sperm now Blush TTC is making me crazy! My plan was to not talk to him about clomid/ovulation days etc and now I've gone and ruined that plan...backtrack!

Anyway amazing news, congrats Grin go clomid!

slippysnow · 20/02/2013 21:10

It was 1st round of 50mg.
To be honest we are quite active conceivers, so dates or not we were likely to do it! But he did know, on the friday before the sat (when I was most fertile) he went out to the pub, and I was cranky about it. He had a chest infection though, so I thought our chances were slim anyway.

I was just asking him about how much I drank and we both can't remember exactly, I'm pretty sure I had a few glasses of wine but stayed away from spirits and too much drinking. He came with me to most of the appointments, so perhaps it made more sense to him. 26 months is a long time so he have tried all sorts of methods and attempting to forget about it all, temping, poas etc etc.
