Tamoxifen for ttc?

Hi. We have been ttc for 22 months (after conceiving dd now 3, 2nd month of trying). We are under the infertility team at local and they have just prescribed me tamoxifen. Does anyone have any experience of this? Side effects? Does it work?? Due to start with next period in a couple of weeks.
Dont know whether to get my hopes up. DH has low sperm count too so we now have problems on both sides after previously having none (I'm nearly 40, DH 62), think we have missed the boat!

Interestingly my DH was prescribed Tamoxifen for his low sperm motility/morphology and there was a marked improvement after 3 months on it (count and morphology remained, largely, the same but forward progressive motility went up from 8% to 30%). He suffered no side effects at all.

miss medusa I am very intrigued to know this since my gp told my dh that there was nothing they could do to increase motility.
