and it has the faintest faintest faintest second line. Af is due tomorrow so one day early testing. I have been feeling a bit sick and have the horrible metalic taste in my mouth. Is that a symptom? A bit tired etc. Do you think this very faint line could mean I am pg?

The other thing is...

My DH really does not want another babe. We have one DS 6 and one DD 4. I did want another, which is why when the moment of madness happened, I did not protest too much. The thing is, now there is the possibility that I am pg I don't know how I should approach the subject. I am worried he will be cross. Has anyone else been in this position? Advice needed please. xxx

A faint positive is still a positive. Did you do it with the first urine of the day? That usually has a higher concentration of hormone. I'd leave it a couple more days then do another test; it should come back stronger.

As for telling DH and being worried about his reaction - you hardly got up the duff unassisted! If he really doesn't want any more kids he should have taken precautions, so if he didn't then frankly he's got no right to be annoyed.

Hi ArkadyRose:

No I just did the test this eve, so I will try again in the morning, see if that makes a difference.

I know what you say about DH is right. I kept thinking that maybe subconciously he wasn't really that against the idea because otherwise he would have used precautions, or just kept away from me. I have never been on the pill or anything and he knows that!

I keep popping up to look at the test to see if it looks any different. I think I am going bonkers!

It sounds like you are pg woose. Retest using FMU and please update us. Hope you be the result you want.

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 20/11/2012 10:57

Update?

woose · 20/11/2012 12:24

Well I tested this morning and I though def BFN!! and I felt quite sad. Then gradually over the next 30 mins or so it showed up really faint, even fainter than last time. So hope restored! I have showed a couple of friends and they say def BFP.

I was going to the doc with my DD this morning anyway, so I quickly showed the doc the tests (cheeky I know), she agreed they looked positive. Then she gave me another to do there and then. Well when the result came in she said it was negative....

But, I took the test home and again over the next 30 mins it comes up with v faint second line. I am still confused. I guess I just have to wait a few days a week and test again. The wait is going to be torture!!!

What kind of tests are you using?

Unfortunately if you have left it 30mins it could be an evaporation line.

Still holding out hope for you though x

woose · 20/11/2012 15:04

I just used the really cheap Asda ones and then the one from the doc was a clearblue one. I expect you are right Ratata, that sounds like it could be what has happened, I must not get my hopes up. Still feel sick though! What are the best tests to use?

Ratata · 20/11/2012 23:07

Maybe try First Response? Worked for me when the cheapies didn't.

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 20/11/2012 23:12

How fustrating for you woose! Try getting a first response and clear blue digital and retesting with fmu. Its not over yet!

woose · 21/11/2012 15:50

Yes, I think I will need to give the first response a go. I have been driving myself crazy today. I did another test this morning and there is def a second line, it is just pretty faint. I have had a lot of tummy cramps today and the sicky feeling has gone, so maybe it is all nothing really. Are the First response tests expensive?

i hope you don't think i'm hijacking your thread woose, but i am in a similar position. my period is 2 days late, when it is always on time. i have been feeling sick and really tired so did a first response test yesterday as i wanted to be sure. it looked like a definite negative, definitely only one line. i was relieved as i have an 18 month old and definitely don;t want another baby so soon, but i can't shake the feeling that i am pg. still feeling sick and no sign of my period. first response test was ?10.99, I live in ireland. are first response really that accurate? don't want to waste money on more tests but still feel sick, really like when i was pg before

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 21/11/2012 18:58

woose it def sounds like your pg, no matter how faint if theres a second line your pg.

First response are about £8-10 I think.

woose · 22/11/2012 16:34

Update: I am definitely pg! I did a first response test last night and the second line came up clear as anything.

Jillamona: I think you should try and get a first responce test. The difference between the ones I tried was vast, it went from a faint line to a really clear line. If you feel pg then you may well be. The tests were £7 for two in tesco on special offer so a little cheaper than I thought it would be.

I am absolutely panic stricken now as I will need to tell my DH tonight. Goodness knows how he will react. Any advise?

woose YAAAAAY!! That's great news, I thought you were!

Congratulations on your fantastic news! We're trying at the moment and think I ovulate over the next few days so hopefully I'll be sharing a bfp soon too.

So glad you got your +Ve Smile

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 22/11/2012 16:38

woose why don't you pee on the other test when your dh comes home, then you can just smile and hand him the positive test?

Or you could go out for a nice meal and tell him you can't have any wine.....because you're pregnant!

woose · 25/11/2012 20:19

Hi LoveYouForeverMyBaby:

I really hope you get pg too this month, sending you good wishes Smile

What you suggested about telling DH sounded lovely and romantic, unfortunately it didn't work out that way.

We are having some work done on our house and everything keeps going wrong, we have no hot water and no heating, no cooking facilities, and then the plumber said on Thursday night we need a new boiler!!! We live in an area that has been really hit by the bad floods, and on the way home from work my car broke down, I had to abandon in and walk to my mums where my DS and DD were, My Dad gave me a life home, so when my DH just told me about the boiler I just starting sobbing uncontrollably and told him everything! Actually he was lovely about it and we just hugged and talked. We haven't really talked about it since. I think we are both just getting used to the idea of a number 3 that we weren't expecting! Smile
