So after 2 recent Miscarriages and a chemical pregnancy I was meant to see a specialist at the start of November. They canceled the first appointment and I am away the one they sent to replace it. I had to rebook for 17th December as that was the next available day. Just opened a letter cancelling that now too and offering the 7th January. Am feeling very frustrated and annoyed and really quite :(

Oh babyjames I'm really sorry. I had my appointment for recurrent mc about 4 weeks ago. That too was a bit of a disappointment. Wasn't seen by a consultant but by a junior who clearly knew nothing about mc (or possibly pregnancy).

All he did was arrange for bloods to be taken and then another app in 6 weeks time. It might be worth phoning your consultants secretary. Explain there has been a cock up with the dates for your app. It might be sensible to get the bloods taken this year so the results are ready for your app in Jan.

(This is assuming you just the basic bloods they do for most women with recurrent mc).

Sad I really feel for you, it's so frustrating when you wait ages for an appointment only for it to be wrong, or cancelled, or you have to fight for hours with the secretary just to get something half reasonable. It may just be a couple of months to others, but every day that ticks by feels like a lifetime. been there, done that, would have bought the t-shirt but they cancelled my order Nothing really to add, just didn't want you to feel you were alone.

Thanks for your replies. I feel I just pick myself up and then get knocked right back down again. I'm going to get onto the hospital appointments on Monday Morning! I know it really is just a short amount of time to some but as you said it really feels like an eternity to me.

How frustrating! It might also be worth calling them every few days to see if they have any appointments freed up due to cancellations. I have managed to bring forward a couple of fertility appointments that way. Good luck!

Hi,

Is it your first appointment or have you been before? If its a follow up appointment, just call your consultants secretary and ask if it can be rescheduled. If its your first appointment, it will probably have been made by a different department so the secretary may not be able to move it.

Each hospital has a PALs department. It's may be worth giving them a call if you feel you aren't getting anywhere.
I have worked in women's healthcare and in the PALs department of a busy hospital. You can pm me if you want any advice Smile
