probably due to the fact you all thought, stupid woman as if we can tell her when she will fall pg Grin

So, I'll put it another way! How long did it take for you to conceive your first, then your second child? Particularly interested in people with endometriosis.

lucy5 · 03/04/2006 15:48

didnt see your other thread. It took about 8 months with dd and unbelievably [sp] first attempt with this one. Im sorry I dont know about endometriosis but this will bump you.

schneebly · 03/04/2006 15:54

again, I dont have experience of endometriosis but 1st was 1st time, second took 6 months. Good luck and I hope you get some more replies! Smile

Northerner · 03/04/2006 15:55

No endometriosis though.

Chloe55 · 03/04/2006 16:04

6mths for ds1 and 4mths for ds2, I think....

PiccadillyCircus · 03/04/2006 16:08

About 6 weeks with DS.

No time at all with DD Blush

Chloe55 · 03/04/2006 16:16

Hmmm it seems that taking longer with your second is not necessarily true then. Well maybe will go back on the pill. If you didn't read my last thread it took me 12 months to conceive ds (who is now 6wks) and doc warned me it could take double the time to conceive the next, don't want more than 3yrs between the 2 (all being well) so wasn't sure whether to bother using contraception.

I don't know anything about endometriosis, but it took me 13 months to conceive my DS (now 3) and we've been ttc for baby no 2 for 10 months now without success.

bobblehead · 03/04/2006 17:12

1 month dd (10m) been ttc #2 for 4 months now, though don't really count it as ttc as still no af from breastfeeding so its wishful thinking at the moment!
If you think you could cope with a small age gap I wouldn't bother with contraception personally. In my case it takes a concerted effort to get round to sex though so there was never much risk!

peachygirl · 03/04/2006 17:14

I know a litle about endrimetriosis as I worked with a someone who had it. I know it can be very hard to concieve with it (in fact my friend only had one child - he was a teenager when I knew her- and she did want more)I wouldn't use contraception unless you were going to give yourself that 'fertile' boost you can sometimes get when you come of it. taking into account of course that fact that you want another
I'm trying for first - so slightly fraudulent posting here
hope this is vaugely helpful

bobblehead · 03/04/2006 17:17

I think that when you're ttc, even a month feels like forever and it is so easy to dominate your every waking thought. For me, I know I would rather deal with a little "surprise" than this horrible obsessive ttc stuff!

HellKat · 03/04/2006 17:23

I've got severe endo but only took a few months to conceive ds1, took 8 wks to conceive ds2, 6 wks to conceive my last pg (which ended in mc) but this pg took nearly a year as after every pg my endo got prgressively worse. They actually thought I'd stopped ovulating full stop.
I was due for surgery in Jan when I found out I was pg lol so now scheduled for the end of the year.
There's no pattern really, no definite time span on how quickly you'll fall.
Good luck hun xxxxxxxxxxxx

Chloe55 · 03/04/2006 17:30

Thanks for your posts. I know what you mean about it taking over your life when you are officially ttc and I think I would cope better about a little surprise than go a year or longer wondering if this month could be the month.

Good luck to all those ttc Smile

took nearly 2 years to concieve my first child and 2 months for the second.

jmum6 · 03/04/2006 17:32

Took about 4 years ttc for ds, 1 year on clomid. - your time will come!

bobblehead · 03/04/2006 17:34

Hope you get the age gap you want Chloe55Smile

Thanks for your stories. Que Sera Sera (sp?) as they say, it's whether I've got the guts to not take contraception and risk becoming pg next month! How would my body (or my mind) cope! Grin I think I will probably take the pill for about 6 months and then see what happens after, that way if I fall pg immediately then great and if I don't then I haven't left it too long to keep trying. The pill also relieves the endometriosis pain (although since being pg it seems I haven't been as bad) so I think that should be my plan. It's encouraging to know that it doesn't take twice as long with the majority of you though.
