Hello Smile

First time poster, long time lurker would be grateful for some advice. I am TTC my second child (first was unplanned). I stopped Cerazette 6 and a half months ago and AF as had been irregular since. Is this normal? I tried OPKs for two months and one month showed ovulation and one month didn't.

I've made a GP appintment but they can't see me for 2 and a half weeks. I'm wondering if any of you know what the GP is likely to do? Also, have any of you had a similar experience? I'm don't want to hang about as I am 37.

Hi Hun. I developed migraines on microgynon after having DD and was then on Cerazette for just one month but it really made me miserable, so stopped. It was a good 4 cycles before I got back into a 28 day pattern and that was weird as when I stopped the microgynon after years and years I was back to normal within one month. But having looked into it, there was a study that showed it could take up to 6-8 months to get settled again after cerazette. Will have to try and find the link. Anyway two months later I did get that bfp, due in June. I will be 35 next month. I worried myself sick that I'd left it too late so I can understand your situation. The gp can order tests to see what your hormone and egg status is, so can rule out early menopause etc. If there is nothing obvious there then I'm sure I came across others who were prescribed clomid to get things going again. That comes with its own issues and risks of course, but I just wanted to let you know that there are options out there. How long were you on the Cerazette for? The longer it was, the longer it could take I guess. But if it has been over 6 months then I think you are doing the right thing in getting checked out. Hope that helps a bit, keeping everything crossed for you x

Have hunted everywhere for the link but can't find it now. Did find a lot of threads on this subject tho! One of them the lady was put onto microgynon for one month to kick start things and it did work for her. Anyway hope the fortnight passes quickly.

Thanks for replying Snowflakepie. I was on it for a year so it may well be to be expected. I guess I'll have to wait and see what the GP says but it's just so frustrating. I'm glad you had a happy outcome

I went to the doc after 6 months of no periods after Cerazette, the doc told me to go away that it was normal to have "delayed return of fertility" and not to bother her again till it had been more than a year Hmm

BayouBelle · 12/11/2012 15:20

Wow stinkinseamonkey, what a helpful GP you have!

yeay I know, have moved practices (same practice that insisted there were no side effects whatsoever to the coil as I mentioned recently on another thread!)

BayouBelle · 12/11/2012 15:29

And has your new GP been better? Off to do school pick up now but will try to pop back on later

oh god yeah much better! The old place was shocking with "wimmin's" problems.

BayouBelle · 14/11/2012 12:44

Well...

After all that, I founf out yesterday that I am pregnant!

So there is hope, everyone

Hi,

I'm new to this forum but could really use some advise. My partner and I got married in September and have decided to try for a baby so came of cerazete 14/10. I started bleeding 18/10 for 5days and haven't bled since. Is this normal? I've read so many horror stories about people struggling to get pregnant after taking cerazete.

Thanks in advance for any advise you can give me Smile
