Hi ladies - ending the year on a bum note for me - AF arrived 4 days early bitch next week would have been my EDD for the first MC (the second being 26th feb) on a bit if a downer ATM and want to cry all the time :(

HJBeans · 10/12/2012 22:09

Oh, pixie, what a rubbish combination of stuff for you to have to process at once. Awfully sorry you had two losses in quick succession. I had the same this year and can well understand why you're feeling so low as 2012 draws to an end. I hope you've got lots of support in RL to see you through the low and that 2013 brings a lot more joy your way. Xx

Thanks for kind words brave - will help lots to have DH near, I suspect. Only 8 days to go. And then I really want to fly home and give the NHS a big bear hug. It's easy to forget just how glorious it is in lots of ways.

Dorita75 · 10/12/2012 22:19

Oh pixie sending virtual hugs to you, it's rubbish, I had the same in September. AF just arrived here a day early. In one way I'm quite glad to right off 2012 as being shit and to look forward to the lovely 2013 that awaits us all xx

BraveLilBear · 11/12/2012 11:25

Sorry to hear that pixie and Dorita - I can't imagine how much it must hurt. Grieve the year, but also remember to enjoy the things you do have - supportive DHs and plenty of family fun and Wine at Christmas.

Then it's New Year, new chapter, new hope. Thinking of you both x

GaryBuseysTeeth · 11/12/2012 13:00

Pixie, sorry to hear AF was 4 days early. Will be thinking of you next week. x
Dorita, how rubbish for you too, hope you both get early 2013 sticky bfp's and start the year in style.

$1000 for a uti check?! Xmas Shock HJ, enjoy the NHS when you get home!

Bear, I Xmas Hmm at people who announce pg's early, happy for them and all that, but surely even if you've never had a mc, it's at the back of your mind it could happen?

Private scan for me next Friday, DH is off work so he'll be there to hold my hand.

WillSantaComeAgain · 11/12/2012 17:09

Can I join

Had a mmc in the summer, now TTC again except we won't be trying this month as I'm ovulating now and DH has man flu (so definitely won't be DTD tonight).

Feeling a bit Xmas Sad about it these days due to the world and his wife seeming to get pregnant really easily. [Which is, I know, absolutely not true and the one thing that my MC showed me was that actually the world and his wife are more likely to have miscarried than not]

Anyway, although I don't think I'm going to be getting a BFP in 2012, I really hope it won't be too long in 2013. Xmas Smile

Jollyb · 12/12/2012 08:56

willsanta welcome to the thread. Sorry to hear about the manflu issuesWink

dorita and pixie commiserations on your Yuletide visit from AF. How rude!

Well plodding on here. 7+2. Still bleeding but apparently that's quite normal with a subchorionic haemorrhage. EPU not worried as long as it is brown. Another scan next Wed- seems ages away.

Back to work on Friday. I meant to go in yesterday but the bleeding flared up on Mon night.

How is everyone else doing? Mrsd have you had your scan yet?

BraveLilBear · 12/12/2012 10:24

Hello and welcome WillSanta, sorry for your loss, but you'll find us a sympathetic and friendly lot Xmas Grin

JollyB hadn't realised (or maybe had forgotten) that we're practically BFP twins. 7+3 here today (well, by my dates, at least). Glad there's no more drama thus far.

Just a step at a time, and you'll get to Wednesday before you know it.

Jollyb · 12/12/2012 11:04

brave I think HJ beans is within a day or so of us too.

OP posts:
HJBeans · 12/12/2012 13:13

You're right, jolly, I'm 7 weeks today, so a member of the brave & jolly bfp club. (sounds quite a positive-leaning club, doesn't it? Xmas Grin )

Welcome santa, sorry for your loss and hope your 2013 starts happily for you.

Do I remember that bel has a scan today? If so good luck and let us know how it goes.

HJBeans · 12/12/2012 15:30

Quick question, ladies.

Has anyone had dull, one-sided lower backache around 7 weeks? I'm having this today and am a bit worried that the UTI isn't responding to the antibiotics and has spread upward. Don't feel otherwise unwell though and am loathe to try to get another $1000 out of travel insurance for what may be normal pregnancy aches.

It's not severe, just there. And as I suspect many of you can relate to, a new pain leads to nervousness and temptation to consult dr google.

A lot of my cramping has also been on the left side, which leads me to a second possible extremely silly question - is it possible to feel which side your baby has attached on to? Are normal pregnancy aches expected to be one-sided?

Thanks in advance for any wisdom.

BraveLilBear · 12/12/2012 15:36

Hey HJ

Don't know about the lower backache... fx the UTI hasn't travelled north. When are you due back in the UK?

As for one-sided pains, most of my early pains have eben left-sided, which is the side I ovulated from this time.

Really hope you feel better soon.

Jollyb · 12/12/2012 18:21

hj is the pain up in your loin under your ribs or lower back? If you're feeling otherwise ok and no fevers etc I suspect your pain is a pregnancy niggle, however if it persists or you get any other symptoms do go back. Did you have an infection confirmed on the urine sample or did they treat you on the basis of your symptoms?

Polka2 · 12/12/2012 20:03

Wow, a girl goes away for a week and all sorts of good news happens! Lets hope the positive vibes continuesWink

Congrats for those BFPs and fingers n toes crossed for the 2ww!

AFM had a relaxing hols (were a few teeny babies in our resort which was a painful reminder of those babies we've lost) but feel newly refreshed for next stage of DTD marathons, still in the WTF cycle so fingers crossed hormones settle themselves soonWink

YikesHereWeGo · 12/12/2012 20:16

Please can I join the jollybravebeans club? I'm 7+4 today. Nearly 8wks which I'm visualising as a milestone as the risk of mc goes down at that point (although my mc in May was at 10wks Confused)

HJBeans · 12/12/2012 20:22

Cheers, brave and jolly - pain is lower back, too low for kidneys I would think, and no other problems to speak of except feeling much more UTI-y again after a few days reprieve. They did test the urine, though I don't thi the time they were away was long enough to culture anything and maybe they've prescribed based on white blood cells plus symptoms. Or maybe they did some sort of time machine culture and that's why it cost $1000! If its worse by tomorrow, I'll head back to the clinic. Am back to the UK on the 28th and, as I said, want to give the NHS a big hug.

Welcome back polka. Glad you had a restful hols and hope your hormones settle down quickly and any DTD marathons are enjoyable and fruitful. Xmas Smile

HJBeans · 12/12/2012 20:31

Welcome to the gang, yikes. Our catchphrase could be "Yikes! Jolly Brave Beans!". Xmas Grin

I'm really looking forward to hitting 8w for the very reason you state. Though the longer I go without spotting, the more I find myself stupidly and morosely googling stats for mmc (which are also pretty encouraging, to be honest). I hope I'll stop expecting the worst after I've had a scan - because I'm stuck in the US I'll not have a chance to be scanned at all until 10.5 weeks.

Do we have any women on the thread who have miscarried repeatedly at a given gestational stage? If so, how far past that stage did you stop assuming it would all end in tears again and start enjoying your pregnancy?

Jollyb · 12/12/2012 20:35

Ah yikes I knew there was someone else. I think cogito might be a week ahead of us too.

polka was thinking about you just the other day and wondering if you had made it away. I went on holiday 2 days after my last MC and I think it was the best recovery tool.

Feeling quite chipper this evening - more energy than I've had in days . . . . which of course makes the 'OMG my symptoms have gone' thinking kick in!

OP posts:
Jollyb · 12/12/2012 20:44

beans I think my scan next week at 8+2 is going to be a huge milestone for me. In a way I've already passed one by getting as far as a HB - 2 of my previous MCs were very early and the other was diagnosed on a routine scan - I had an empty sac at 8 weeks.

I only wish I wasn't still spotting - though I am becoming more relaxed about it and not running to the loo every 5 minutes.

6 days to go eeek.

OP posts:
Mrsd77 · 12/12/2012 21:43

Hi jolly thanks for asking about scan. Should have been tomorrow but I had it yesterday due to some bleeding over the weekend. Totally convinced myself it was game over only to see a strong heartbeat! Could have knocked me down with a feather! They also found a tiny fibroid and a little bleed next to the sac which doc was unconcerned by. Have spotted a smidge since and hoping it was that little bleed working it's way out. She said it was more than likely implantation. Now been booked in for 12 week scan on 23rd Jan. Eyes are closed and everything's crossed!!

backwardpossom · 12/12/2012 22:23

Yay to scan going well Mrsd Xmas Smile

Tomorrow would have been my baby's due date. I'm sad, but also feeling optimistic as I have a very very wriggly wee monkey kicking me here at almost 28 weeks. x

Jollyb · 13/12/2012 09:20

mrsd fantastic news. I also had an area of bleeding close to the sac - still spotting but I think it's tapering down.

possum hope today isn't too painful. I sometimes think back to my due dates - I could have a nearly 6 month old, an 8 week old or be 6 months pregnant.

WillSantaComeAgain · 13/12/2012 13:13

Can I ask a question please? Why the mosh pit? I've seen your thread many times before and have lurked a bit/lot, but never known what the mosh pit reference was in aid of!

pebspop · 13/12/2012 13:32

the mosh pit reference is because someone mixed up the work mental and metal and there were lot's on heavy metal references since. it was all before my time so i guess you had to be there!!

i am not sure if anyone is still posting on here from those days.

YikesHereWeGo · 13/12/2012 19:52

Great news mrsd about your scan Grin
Good question beans about getting past a certain stage & starting to enjoy being pg. I was wondering the same myself...
