Ttc and pcos??

Aftee I had ds 1 I was told that Ive got pcos.

Periods are regular though? Not extra hairiness and ive got it according to a scan I had.
I don't know how long ive had it for.

Are there any success stories? ?
Ive got the 2 week dreaded wait and ive tried to time everything right.

If you have one child you will be fine.
I have pros and everything lse with it, no periods at all unless on fertility treatment, hairiness which I control with laser hair removal, weight issue again controlled with strict it and exercises........and I have two gorgeous children, both conceived with help of everything drugs, healthy life style and lots of patience ( each time it took us four years!!! That's includes months of clomid, hormonal injections, timed sex, six cycles of Isis on both occasions)....

So I'd say you will be fine x

Im on my 2nd month but dont think I timed last month properly.

Don't get too stress about it, just enjoy it...it is normal to take up to a year for a perfectly healthy couple to conceive.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in. I am 31 and was diagnosed with pcos,at 16. I fell pregnant in January this year (very unexpectedly not even Ttc) I mc at 7 weeks. the doc advised to try again immediately but it seemed so wrong. we started trying again 6 months ago and i have only had 1 period and no luck. i know a lot of women go through this and hate to sound mopey but i just feel so low and desperate. i still get pmt symptoms like cramp headache and major moodswings. Just really want some advice. sick of crying.

I would ask the GP to refer you now to a subfertility unit for further evaluation.
PCOS is well outside a GPs general remit of help, you need to see a gynae at such a unit.

It is not a question of timing; timing of intercourse can do more harm than good. Ovulation and conception do not work like that at all (this 2 week wait is not helpful to you either).

Do you actually know you are ovulating regularly?. You should be monitored via blood tests and ultrasounds to check that an egg is actually leaving the ovary. Regular periods and PCOS are uneasy bedfellows as it is quite possible to have periods without ovulating.

PCOS is a very individualistic disorder and affects each woman with it very differently. You may have had PCOS for a number of years.

I have PCOS and am a parent but I needed fertility treatment in order to conceive (my risk of miscarriage was much higher than average due to PCOS).

Evening ladies i have pcos and 2 gorgeous dc's both conceived naturally. Got diagnosed while ttc dc1 after i went 9months without a period. That whole time i had monthly cramps, spots, mood swings. After dc1 things regulated but dc2 took a while to conceive. Now trying for number 3 but after a mc earlier in the year my cycles have gone potty again. Good luck x

Hi jellycurls it's great it happened for you naturally, I just had my first fertility appointment and the doctor said I won't ovulate naturally - I have pcos and crazy irregular periods but I'm wondering how he can be so sure? Did you do anything to help it happen naturally - Chinese herbs, exercise, anything like that? Thanks, Cx

Hi charlotte after being told we would never naturally have children we took a break from "trying" booked a holiday and bought a 2 dearer car. Found out pregnant 2 months later. For dc2 i ate really healthy and took up running. Also accepted it would take a while so didn't stress. Found a low GI diet helps regulate periods

How long were you ttc for when you got your first BFP? Must have felt amazing. Did you have any scans to look at your tubes or anything? I keep wondering if it will happen naturally and if I'm going for clomid/IVF too soon, although I'm nearly 31 and am so ready to have my family so can't bear the thought of waiting years and it never happening naturally! x
