AF late - spotting but BFN!! Any ideas?

I will try to keep it brief - day 36 of cycle 28 to 32 days - no AF yet but had achy cramps and niggles like AF coming but only had (tmi WARNING) brown when wiped ater loo - used pantyliner for 3 days but next to nothing on it!
Did test yesterday but BFN - any ideas - getting some cheap tests from Ebay in post tomorrow and will try again on Friday morning. Anyone else had this and been PG

if you are on day 36 and your cycle is normally 28-32 days, then a pregnancy test should be showing positivie by now. Could it not just be a light period or a slow to start one?

Did you test with 1st morning wee?
Could be pregnant though :)

Yes it was first morning wee and very strong - to be fair it took about 10 days being late last time for dd to show up! Got other symptoms - sore boobs and bloated tum and fatigue - could all be wishul thinking! The brown stu was defo not a period - I am usually quite heavy and short - this was weird! Will let you know how I get on!

tbh if you're on day 36 and have had spotting then I think it's unlikely that you are pg. I had the same this month - 35 days on a usually between 28/30 day cycle. The sore boobs etc are generally as much a simptom of af as of pg.

hmmmmm. one the one hand your description sounds very much like what I had when PG with DS - on the other hand, like HMO2 says, I would expect a PG test to show up by a week late. Best of luck!

Well I don't know what the score is - no sign o AF yet. I defo think that the bits I had were not AF but you never know!

Got the tests today so will try one tomorrow with first wee - will try not to drink too much tonigh to ensure it is nice and strong! If that is neg then I will probably have to write it o and see if I get AF next month! Will keep taking the folic acid and eating well tho as that will help all ways!

You can definitely be pg even if you are spotting, in fact it's quite common AFAIK (and it happened to me with my first pg).

I have had this before and not been pregnant, but I'd definitely test again if you have been trying!

Well I did a test but it was BFN.

I have checked my dates and I think AF was due on 27th so I am 4 days late, so it is possible that it might not show yet. Having said that I think that maybe it was a very very light AF - well that is the best way to think! I will test on Monday and then next weekend, but being realistic, it is more likely that I will have to wait for my next AF due around 24th April!

Well I have given up on this one - now CD44 but no AF and BFN! I tend to think that HappyMumof2 is right - just an odd month - will have to wait until 24th April for next AF to show up! At least this weekend is the BD one! Not sure I want a Chrismtas baba tho'
