Hi griff ? welcome. I am on 18 months now, and it's really hard. I rarely test because of the disappointment. Though I did test this month due to what I thought/hoped was an implantation bleed just over a week ago. Anyway, AF has arrived today, so it wasn't to be, again. Am slightly concerned as to what that might have been?

So we are both 30, ttc our first for 18 months. We are unexplained/possible mild male factor (3-4% morphology, but other indicators very high). We are abroad at the moment, and will be doing three rounds of clomid and IUI (starting this week) before moving onto IVF. We have great insurance out here, which covers IUI and about half of each IVF round, but when we get back to the UK in the summer we'd have to wait another year or so for NHS IVF. Plus, I'm tired of waiting!

I'm not convinced that the morphology is our only issue, but that there's something else going on. Unexplained sucks, it's amazing how many there are on these boards! Sorry you've been trying for so long, will this be your first? I don't think you should blame your age, as plenty of people start trying much later than you. There is so much they don't know about and the more you look into it the more there are a gazillion things that cound be wrong that they don't test, so making unexplained (like sperm dna, sperm fragmentation, egg quality, compatability, quality of the lining. I could go on but it freaks me out a bit. I don't know how it ever happens!). Anyway, I am trying to put on weight, BMI is just under 19 which I know is ok but I've read they prefer it higher for IVF, so I figure that must impact on all fertility really. I do have regular periods but? Anyway, it's not working despite my latest plan which is to eat one unhealthy thing a day on top of whatever I'd eat normally. No progress so far.

As I said, we're abroad, so hence my odd times of posting? I love these ladies and am so so happy whenever one of us gets lucky. Sparks was our last about 7 weeks ago, and has her scan on Saturday, so we are all brooking hard for her!

griff for the sake of a complete story, I was trying for 12 months exactly (which doesn't feel like that long now, but was torture while it was happening) I was diagnosed with mild PCOS a couple of months ago so had been referred to the fertility clinic for treatment (probably clomid) while I was waiting i lost my job so we decided to step back a little but still obviously managed to get that one lucky bonk in!! So my BFP came as a bit of a surprise!! But us brookers love a good ironic BFP!! As keep said that was a few weeks ago and we're over due for another one!!

I honestly believe that the brookers helped keep me sane and the support they offer is immeasurable!!

Hi griff welcome. We had a stats thread, that hasn't been updated in a while, if you want to know a bit more about us here Though it might be a bit more difficult at the moment as we're all changing to our Xmas names. Sorry that is probably no help at all :o

Its a bit chilly here today, I was hoping for some snow but its just grey and cold. MrBeedle has found the other box of decorations, so I think they'll all be up by the end of the weekend, except maybe the tree, we might wait a bit longer before we bring that inside.

We'll be in England for Xmas, which I'm really looking forward to. I think it will just be us and my parents on Xmas day but there will be time to see family and friends (and go sale shopping) before we come home again.

I don't know where to start. A very warm welcome to Griff. I've also been ttc for 25 cycles and am unexplained. I've had a HSG which was fine (I had anaemia & vitamin b12 deficiency which was corrected 14 months ago my dr thinks it was not severe enough to be a problem)
I'm currently waiting for day 1 of my cycle so I can request blood test & scan at a new fertility specialist. From there we should wait approximately 3 months for an appointment & then we should get a treatment plan for IVF hopefully. Where are you up to? I can't see your first post . Of course none of us will need any treatment as we are all going to get ironic BFPs

Solars what a positive appointment! So glad you don't have to wait so long after the op to try IVF. Well done on getting such a quick appointment for the op as well.

Sweetie it's all sounding very positive for you as well. 60% sounds amazing! Like Biscuits I have thought about donating eggs (if mine are any good that is) after all this ttc is over.

Sparks hope you are feeling ok. Bartlet has beat me to it but all your observations & blood sugar look normal. Keep eating plenty if cake for Twinkles sake though

Hi beedle Christmas at home sounds lovely! Im ok thanks after a difficult couple of weeks. Had Norovirus which resulted in 24hrs of iv rehydration in hospital then had lots of reflux/pregnancy vomiting so was feeling fairly shite (lost 6lbs too!) Have a new med now which is working wonders so Im making the most of being signed off work and trying to put back on the weight I've lost - all for the baby's sake obviously I think I might follow mrbeedles lead and think about Xmas decs going up early this year, im feeling surprisingly festive!

Gosh Olives that sounds awful, norovirus is so horrid. I'm very glad to hear you are feeling better & that your off work. Make sure you eat plenty of goodies & get those decorations up!
