BartletForTeamGB · 28/11/2012 15:24

Woo hoo! I can do it too!

BartletForTeamGB · 28/11/2012 15:26

"but my blood sugar is a little low (low for a normal person, so extra low for a diffed person) so I was released from the ambulance with strict instructions to 'eat some cake'"

Just seen this bit. Blood sugars in the first trimester are normally lower than normal or in the rest of pregnancy, so this really, really wasn't due to your blood sugars. My guess is that you just fainted, but, hey, eat cake, enjoy it, and say it is medical advice! Grin

BartletForTeamGB · 28/11/2012 15:31

"Bartlet are you having a gtt in Sainsburys? And yes it is time, you must change into your Christmas costume! "

Hello, boo. Yes, our antenatal bloods are taken in Sainsbury's. A phlebotomist from the local hospital is available for a few hours in the morning and then in the afternoon, so I had a nice rest, drinking tea and drinking a magazine for an hour in the cafe. It wasn't a GTT, but every pregnant women here gets a glucose challenge. If my blood sugar is above 7mmol/L (I think, I can't remember the actual number now even though I should know it off the top of my head), then I'll have to have a proper GTT.

BartletForTeamGB · 28/11/2012 15:31

As for names, thanks for ideas. I'm just not feeling very inspired, so maybe I need to go completely outside the box. According to this, the "Bartlet for America" episode was a Christmas episode, so I could go back to that, although that is very boring.

BartletForTeamGB · 28/11/2012 15:31

Right, I've done my bit for filling up the thread and really need to get DS up now. See you later, Brookers!

keepitgoing · 28/11/2012 16:05

But Bartlett one doesn't 'just faint', does one? What should she do to stop recurrence?

Dinner was good but overly spicy despite asking for 'mild'... Phew! Am hot now...

I miss the west wing. Am considering starting it all over again.

BartletForTeamGB · 28/11/2012 16:09

Sorry, got no real advice, but fainting is pretty common in the first trimester because of low blood pressure because of hormones, vasodilation etc:

www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/common-pregnancy-problems.aspx#Faintness

Hopefully it will get better. I spent the first 20 weeks in a permanent state of dizziness!

MissLToeishavingsantasbabyboo · 28/11/2012 16:40

hi, I have just put a link to here on Sparks what not to say Fred, hopefully we will have a few new faces. Smile

GenericDietCola · 28/11/2012 16:46

Sparks your blood pressure looks fine too, judging by your results, so maybe you did 'just faint'. But I would eat cake anyway. As a precaution.

WinterSolstice · 28/11/2012 16:50

Well done Boo :)

Gen I think with all the issues that DH and I have discovered since our ivf, it really will be an ironic BFP! I'm not holding my breath :( AF is not due at the weekend but I think there's Keep who perhaps may give us out next BFP, right Keep? how's it going?

Ok Bartlet I confess the last couple of hours I nipped out and met a friend for a quick coffee and a wonder around the shops! But I was really good and didn't buy anything even though I found a really cute pair of ankle boots! But prior to that i really, really was working hard! 'onest gov!

Griffomais · 28/11/2012 17:08

Hi Can I join your thread please? TTC 26 months another BFN yesterday doesn't get any easier does it!

SweetieSnowball · 28/11/2012 17:11

Am back from hair dresser, well I was back ages ago but it has taken a while to read through all the pages on here.

Sparks you poor thing having a faint emergency with ambulance involved and all. Hope you are ok, might be worth keeping an emergency mars bar about your person at all times. Take it easy this evening, feet up and eat cake Drs orders.

keep my parents have just returned from Maderia where there is a bad outbreak of mozzie bite related illness. So they took loads of stuff with them and on the plane before takeoff home the sprayed everyone. The crew walked down the aisle of the plane with a fumigator thing imagines crop spraying and sprayed everyone, bet that went down well!!

barlett it is lovely to have you back and nice to see gen popping in too, how are you all doing over on the PSEPP thread?

ScarlettsPlantHasTinselHoHoHo · 28/11/2012 17:26

Ooh and Griff you will see lots of our own acronyms, shout up if we manage to confuse you, psepp for example is a pee stick endorsed pregnant person, we have many :)

BartletForTeamGB · 28/11/2012 18:01

Welcome griff! We have now guaranteed your BFP as we Brook No Argument!

WinterSolstice · 28/11/2012 18:11

Looking lovely there Sweetie and brooking for you for tmrw!

Hi there Griff you're in the right place here! Sorry about bfn, when are you not due AF? Still in with a chance in my opinion! Have you had any tests yet? 26 months is very hard going.

Griffomais · 28/11/2012 18:48

Hi everyone thanks for such a warm welcome - AF due tomorrow and I know she's coming the witch! Had various tests including HSG and have been diagnosed with "unexplained infertility" so frustrated. Just had to spend an hour playing jigsaws with my 2 year old nephew - really tears me up inside to say that as I love him so much but it hurts because all I want is a baby of my own.

Anyway how's everyone else doing?

MissLToeishavingsantasbabyboo · 28/11/2012 19:01

Griff you poor thing, has Mr Griff done his jiaj

Griffomais · 28/11/2012 19:14

Hi yes he's had his appointment and all is fine with him too. I had lots of blood tests, internals scans, HSG - apparently I am the picture of health. So I can only assume its my age although I wouldn't say 35 was that old and I'd begin TTC at 33. So how about you what's your story?

SparklySanta · 28/11/2012 19:34

Hi griff welcome to the best ttc thread in the world!!

bartlet thank for that, it's nice to know what's actually going on!! The paramedics did seem a bit unsure of what to do with pregnant women!! But I'm still sticking to the advice of eating cake!!!

I'm safely installed on the sofa now after a maccies tea and a 2 hour nap!!!

Half way through this post!! We can totes do this!!!

MissLToeishavingsantasbabyboo · 28/11/2012 19:38

unexplained is a really hard one, you can't even have a medical back up plan Sad I'm so sorry. I am 35 too, it is not too late at all.

my story has a happy ending Wink I have 2 ds's teen boo is 15, no issues getting pg with him but I was only 20 and in good working order toddly boo is 3, we tried for 2.5 years and were told we were unexplained, we started trying for #3 last year and joined the brookers soon after and I'm now just coming up to 18 weeks pg Smile this really is a lovely place to come when your ttc, there is nothing we can't talk about including being completely mental about ttc some of the others have been trying a lot longer than me (and you) and there are a few of us who are having/had various treatments, I'm sure as you get to know us they will tell you about it.
