Would you carry on ttc in these circs?

I have now had two ectopics (one tube removed, the other operated on) so am left with one damaged tube.

The IVF referral has just gone off, and I should hear from the clinic by the new year.

In the meantime, would you carry on trying yourself or not? Both tubes have failed, and the one that's left is probably doubly crap now, what with having been operated on. Is it just pointlessly risking my health? Or would you be driven to risk it for the tiny chance of success?

I wouldnt want to say either way other than to remenber to think about the emotional stress you ae putting on yourself, and if the IVF referal is only a short time away it may be worth waiting for help? Is it that if you get pregnant naturally you've got a high risk of an ectopic pregnancy or just that you don't think it'll happen naturally? If its more risky for ectopic I'd as no don't do it but if its just that you don't think it'll happen then go for it. Good luck

It's the high risk of another ectopic, ninja. I suppose really I need to ask a doctor exactly what the likelihood is.

It's just quite hard to let go and wait.

Hello luffly. Hope you're ok. I think IVF is the right way forward for you. Hard as it is to let go of the idea of natural conception, given that both BFPs you've had turned out to be ectopic, I would think the best thing would be to give yourselves a rest from the roller coaster that is TTC and wait til the IVF comes through. You might find it revitalises your sex life too, sex for sex's sake, not always trying to win a baybee! :)

Sadly our sex life is currently non-existent! I think we need the ttc thing to get us over our initial apathy at the moment (work stress/tiredness/post EP grief/etc). I wonder if that's partly why I want to try again, to help us get over this a bit... Clever faith!
