how important is it to read the test before 10 mins??

Basicly i took a test this morning thinking that although i feel pg in not due af yet so thought even if i am it wont show, bur did a test anyway cus im impacient

So.anyway i did the test but then forgot about it and left it on top of the loo for an.hour.

When i checked it i saw in the light a very faintest of faint lines in the test box!!

My question is, is that test now invalid and proberly not a bfp cus i left it too late to look at??

Depends on the colour and type of test. When is your AF due?

Essentially yes. If you read a test outside of the stated time limit, you could see an evaporation line (where wee has dried on the indicator chemical). Which doesn't mean you are not pregnant, but you cannot rely on that test.

it was a red dye test, and not sure when af is due as cycles are a bit up and down. af due the 24th at earliest tho.

Everyone say HAS to be within 10mins BUT with ds1 I did a test, read it at 5 and 10 mins.... nothing.

Blue dye cross type tests are dreadful for it. I've had lines on them after 30 minutes and I've never been pregnant.

This one was a red dye vertial lines one

I'd take another one just to be sure to be honest.

All my BFPs begin that way (with a line outside the time limit) but then I test rather regularly with cheapies from the Internet. But very occasionally I've had a line come up when I've not been pregnant.. sometimes even within the time limit.

Unless it's a big box band like FRER and inside the time limit I only count it as a positive if it's on at least two or more brands. Don't trust Clearblue unless it's a digital, I get a 50% false positive rate on those with skinny lines.

One quick question tho, atm i seem to be waking up 3am to go for a pee. Should i poas then or will the wee be ok at a more reasonable hour ?

Pee in a cup at three, dip the stick into it whn you get up a few hours later.

I agree you can't rely on a test after the allocated time. I've had several gut wrenching false positives that way. For 'FMU' you're really going for concentrated urine - if you went to bed at say 10 and peed at 4 it's going be concentrated enough, more than if you used wee at 7 if you already wee'd at 4. When I tested I peed in a jar at four and then used that pee to test in the morning.

Good thanks, scan tomorrow :) 12 weeks already! We will be sneezing these babies out in no time. How are you?

13 weeks! Scan showed wriggly baby but back on Tuesday to try again to date it because it was sat on its bottom! :) good luck for the scan, most amazing feeling to see it wriggling around!

Hai- for every 24 hours that pee sits in a cup, the amount of HCG will halve.
So a few hours should be fine.
