I have 2 girls and would love a little boy to complete our family. DH has wanted to have another for a long time (boy or girl) but if I have another girl I think I will probably want to try again for a boy.

btw, I douched for my daughter with white vinegar, diluted though and it worked, as I only did it one day before ovulation too as after 3 months of only trying 5 or 4 days before ovulation was making me impatient.

last pregnancy I conceived boy girl twins !! how do you explain that, well we baby danced on day 9 and day 15, and I truly believe they may have been conceived on different days? who knows!

girlygirluk · 31/03/2006 13:12

malodorantemelly - sounds like you have your hands full!
When you douched, Im guessing you were trying to get a girl with your acidic concoption! did you do anything else, like any supplements as well?

With your latest, were you ttc a specific gender when you got pregnant with your twins?

Sorry all questions, just really interested, cause its hard to find fellow douchers! Ooo also, did you douche both before and after sex?

Thanks, girlygirluk

malodorantemelly - sorry for more questions!.....but, did you get a douching kit from somewhere in uk, or are you in another country. Its so hard to find a douching thingy!

Plus, did you make the acidic liquid yourself, or again was it from a kit. If you did it yourself, would you mind telling me how much lemon juice you used to how much water.....thanks again!

Hi Girly - no prob will help all I can, but as others have said it cannot be relied on!

I had a boy and was hankering after a girl so just used a 10ml medicine syringe, which I used to use for kids, (then threw away!) Made my own solution followed what I read in a book, I think it was one part white vinegar, to 4 parts cooled boiled water. I just used it before, and didn't move for a while after!!! No supplements or anything else for me...

Also good to lower your mans sperm count, by him wearing tight underwear for about a month, and leting him c*m every day before you try... sorry to be graphic!

with the twins, I wanted a girl, hence day 9, then on day 15 changed my mind and then wanted a boy, so miraculously got both! And that was 4 months after having an ectopic!

if I can be of any more help, I will do what I can

xx

Hi malodorantemelly,
Thanks for all the advice.
We're not thinking of ttc for a little while, but i'll def bear all your advice in mind!
I think changing the ph environment makes a lot of sense, so that'll be an interesting few months! Goodness knows what my husband will think when I broach this, Ive already got him wearing the tight pants! Grin
Thanks again. girlygirl

We've got a DS and would love a DD next time but DH has generations of boys only on his side, he is one of 3! Do you think that it's true that the men really decide what we have? It would seem that having a DD is against us with that kind of track record. What do you think???

Hopecat · 01/04/2006 17:38

It's true in a sense, although 'decide' is a bit strong. We provide the X (as we have 2), and the sperm are either X or Y (as men have one of each). So if an X sperm gets into your egg, you've got an XX (a girl), and if a Y sperm gets in there first you've got an XY (a boy).

And they said dual certification Science GCSE was useless. Hah.

lbmum · 02/04/2006 16:52

Thanks Hopecat! I'm very impressed! So, perhaps there is hope after all and it would almost definitely seem worth trying for a girl then. Any chance that some men only carry Y??? :o

girlygirluk · 02/04/2006 22:30

Hi Ibmum,
I know you're prob jokin but I've often wondered if my DH only carries the 'y' gene. He is one half of identical twins and his twin has only had girls and we only have boys. Sometimes I wonder if, as they're genes are identical and their egg split (at conception) if they split their x and y genes, as they share all their chromosomes and gene make up....probably far fetched, but I do wonder!

From what Ive read and researched it seems that generally men have a equal split of 50/50 x and y, but although they obviously influence, I do think that we have some say in it, because every woman has a different ph environment that favours one or other type of sperm. I suspect I am rather alkaline and therefore the girly genes done seem to have a look in. Apparently its the acidic ph that kills off the boy sperm and helps the girly ones on their epic journey! Wink

I will def be trying to change my ph to more acidic by douching, and also taking various supplements like cranberry tablets and lydia pinkhams compound.....I think it's definitely worth a try.

lbmum · 03/04/2006 14:33

Hi Girlygirluk!
Yes, I'll def be trying the acidty thing. At risk of a little tmi, how do you do it effectively? Mmmm, sounds a bit dodgy but will give it a go! I'll try some lemon juice first I think!!! Hold off from the vinegar for a while!! :o
Those supplements you said are helpful, thanks for that, hadn't heard of those. Think I'll go look them up now!
I know what you mean about men only having either X or Y, I'd say that DH's family certainly favour Y!! Oh, well, good luck! I love my son and would be so happy with another little boy anyway. But a girl would be just perfect too.

girlygirluk · 04/04/2006 12:12

Hi ibmum,

The website ingender.com is also really useful for tonnes of tips for swaying the odds. Its a US website and the ladies all seem very familiar with douching over there. They could probably explain how they do it better because I havent yet attempted it and I was thinking i'd consult them for some instructions when the time comes! Wink

Good luck. girlygirl
