hi, my ds is 11 months old and still bf 2-3 times in 24hrs. we've been ttc#2 for about 5 or 6 cycles now & am currently 7dpo. at the moment i have 9 day lp & my health visitor has asked me a few questions and said she doesnt think my short lp is due to bf & to see my doctor. i havent seen my doctor yet but am goona phone fpr an appointment tomorrow. i have just realised though, about 2 weeks before i found out i was pg with ds i had a blood test done to check my prolactin levels as i had fluid leaking from my nipples. i hadnt missed a period or anything and according to scan dates, etc ds was born at the right time if you get what i mean so if i was pregnant when blood test was taken then i would have only been a couple of days past . the doctor said my prolactin levels were high, if i was only 2 dpo would they have been high due to being pg? or do you think they were probably high before that? also we were trying for ds for a year so do you think my prolactin levels could have affected me conceiving? i'm a little worried that maybe my prolactin levels are still high (not from bf) and whether high prolactin levels affect your fetility?
sorry for all the questions but any answers would be great!
thanks luv sarahlou xx

Increased levels of prolactin can interfere with ovulation so if they were higher than normal prior to becoming pg then this may well be a factor.

It can be treated with tablets.
