We have been TTC for about a year and have been to our GP. Had 21 day bloods done and have now been referred to the fertility clinic. What should we expect when we get there? GP, although very supportive, was a little vague as to what they will actually do!

Not a lot happened at ours. They booked me in for a chlamydia and rubella test and explained about how to book in for the HSG. They glanced and SA and progesterone results and said they looked fine. There were a few questions about if we were having regular sex Hmm and my cycle but that was it. I had the HSG two months later. Good luck!

Thank you for the reply. Already had the chlamydia and rubella tests (had to be redone as the rubella results must be wrong, apparently?!) with the nurse so at least we have that out of the way.

It isn't a place anyone wants to be, but at least you feel you're ding something. So sorry you have to be there at all, it sucks! The 10plus thread is v friendly if you want some support or have qs before you get your bfp.

Thanks again, it is good to hear from someone who has been there already x

Hi Leonas I was in your situation a couple of months ago. Me and DH had been ttc for about a year and a half and my periods were very irregular. We went to our GP who did various tests on us (blood, cervical swabs, semen analysis etc) then sent me for an ultrasound to check for PCOS which came back inconclusive! Finally he referred us to the fertility clinic. I waited about 3 months and had my appointment this afternoon. After a very lengthy chat with the consultant the general consensus is that I DO have PCOS and am definitely not ovulating and now we need to do something to get my cycle started. I'm going to have a dye test to check that my tubes are not blocked and then they will start me on Clomifene.
I've been waiting for some answers for a long while now and I'm so pleased with how the fertility clinic have dealt with everything, so fingers crossed that early next year I could be pregnant.
I only hope you have as good experience as we have had and get all the answers that your looking for xx

We had a positive experience at the fertilty specialist, we only had to wait 3 weeks for our appointment, we talked about medical history, blood and SA results, how regular we have sex etc.. She then did an internal scan-which didn't hurt abit and showed everything was fine, she then booked a hsg in for 4 weeks later. She said I will get the results that day and we can decide our plan if action!
Try not to worry, it was really worried abit the whole thing, but they were very nice, quick and informative! Good luck! :)
