Hi, we're looking at acupuncture to support our next round of fertility treatment (FET), can anyone else who has used acupuncture share their experiences? How early in the process did you start? How often did you have it? How did you find your practitioner? Finally, any success stories?!

Hello, I have! I had a weekly treatment for 6 weeks then once a month for the duration of the pregnancy. I googled fertility accupuncture in my area and found my lady that way she was also register with Zita West. The accupuncture itself was fine and based on the tradional chinese style cost me about £40 a time. I was hugley scepitcal and my consultant even more so but after 6 miscarriages i was willing to try anything. My 7th pregnancy was succeful and i had my first child in 2010. I am planning on going back soon to try for my next. Good Luck.

Hello, me too - had it before TTC as had major PCOS & endometriosis. Just googled a local lady and went weekly then after I moved went to Herbal Inn chinese doc in the Metrocentre around 3 weekly, supplemented by v smelly herbal teas! PCOS & Endo seemed to clear up more or less completely within maybe 6 months. 1st BFP happened quickly although lost him at 11 1/2 wks

Now nearly 17 weeks and all looking good so far. Good luck!

I had acunpuncture when ttc (I have PCOS) and it worked brilliantly - my resulting DS is now 4. you're in london, can recommend the lovely lady that I saw.

JoJo, I've looked at Zita West but her clinic is pretty expensive if you think about it weekly for a number of months (we're having to pay for all of our fertility treatment, so have already spent thousands - it sounds harsh but it's a reality), so I'm really interested in Zita registered practitioners elsewhere - £40 sounds much more reasonable! Was she listed on the Zita website, or did you find her somewhere else?

I'm London based and have discovered the London Acupuncture Clinic online who seem to have good IVF creds and experience for less than Zita. I want to know / believe whoever I go to knows what they're doing in terms of IVF compatability.

The only other time I had acupuncture was in a Sen place where I needed a translator during the consultation, so I wasn't filled with confidence and didn't feel especially comfortable! I just wish my IVF clinic could make a recommendation (but they won't, of course!).

jumping I went to see someone at the London Acu Clinic for ages. It didn't get me pg but I did find it very helpful to have someone to talk to about cycles and the various tests I have had. After a break I am trying someone new, based on a personal recommendation. I'm still in my first month of treatment so it's too early to say if there will be results, but I was sleeping better and having fewer night sweats straight away after the first treatment. I'm happy to PM you details if you would like.

I used acupuncture through five rounds of IvF. Found it very helpful for relaxation and it was actually recommended by my consultant to aid fertility and was provided, at a cost, through the NHS cycles too, so he believed in it.

If you are in north London, I can recommend my acupuncturist who works out of clinics around Belsize Park and Primrose Hill if you want to PM me. I've used the London Accupuncture Centre on Harley St too, when my usual person was on holiday and it's not bad, but a bit of a production line.

P.s. Accupuncture also worked for me. One DS, pg with DC2. Miscarriage and ectopic along the way, all assisted conception.

Daniel Elliot at LAC seems to be popping up on a few forums - is he who you saw? I'm not too worried about being in a production line kind of place, I just want somewhere they understand my needs (and English!) and will do their best to help.

I wish this was a magic bullet, as I'm not naive enough to think it's the answer to our problems, but I really think it can't harm our chances of a bfp running to term (I've had 2 mcs following ICSI so far).
