TTC after recent mc - Thread 2

Hi everyone - I've started the new thread as our original one is nearly full.

I really hope that this is the one where we all get our BFPs and don't have to experience any more heartache.

Almond if it's just one match I'd be tempted to skip out on it, just in case you're bashed around at all! I think the official line is the carry on as you were though, but if they're a vicious team...

I don't know. It goes against my belief system to advocate changing your lifestyle but I've been having similar thoughts about skiing in February and I might not even be pg then! I just know I would struggle to come to terms with another mc if it followed a tumble on the slopes.

blundercatsHO · 02/12/2012 09:56

Really tricky almond. Presumably any elbow in the tummy would have to be so low down to actually go near the bean at this time, it's pretty unlikely that it would get whacked. I know one of the reasons also to be careful is because your ligaments will be looser and stretching (or whatever they do) and you're more likely to get injured yourself. And of course there is the 'what if' side of it, is it best to try to remove those things that you might blame if it didn't work out. Obviously that could be a bit of a slippery slope but some activities are going to get you bumped about and they're bound to be the ones you blame like andadietcoke says.

Thanks for anda. Yes the next pg will be different, but perhaps the healthy beautiful baby that you do have will be so so precious to you, there might even be a positive in there as well? Its what I'm trying to tell myself anyway!

andadietcoke · 02/12/2012 10:04

blunder thanks! Looking back that was really maudlin. That's what happens when I have a glass of wine after a booze less period! I think, like lol (if there's a next time) I'll be measuring in milestones. I am by nature, a very optimistic person, and a massive planner so I just need to temper that a bit.

andadietcoke · 02/12/2012 10:06

Ooooh, just thought. Maybe maudlin-ness wasn't wine related but PMT related. There's a happy thought Grin

IBelieveInPink · 02/12/2012 10:11

coke I am the same exactly, so I can understand your sentiments. If there is a next time I will be very much waiting for the next milestone- digi tests 1 2 and 3, early scan etc etc. will be hard, as I am a planner too, but too much crap has for wrong recently to get that excited!

Ooh just read that back, I am positive really! It's not meant to sound as miserable as it does, just tht I understand where you are coming from :)

On the plus side, next milestone arrived yesterday. 5 wks 1 day after erpc (for anyone interested in dates!) af arrived. Yay.

blundercatsHO · 02/12/2012 10:13

I was going to ask about dates pink, still wasn't clear whether to measure from ERPC or from end of bleeding so that's really useful.

Hooray for af and pmt, this month only!

BelissimaLol · 02/12/2012 10:32

It turns out I'm 5 weeks today and not yesterday. On that note, what pregnancy tracker app do you girls use? That's what got me confused yesterday!
Almond have you decided what to do?
Good news for blunder and pink. I think your bodies are moving on from mc!
I'm a planner too and hate not being in control. That's why this is so hard.
Well no twinges today. I know the next two weeks will be hell and I will need lots of hand holding!

IBelieveInPink · 02/12/2012 10:44

Keep going, you will get there. A friend has just managed to get through 12 weeks after 5 previous mc. It can happen and does, so no reason why this one shouldnt be yours :)

Completely agree on lack of control! That's what was stressing me about no af, I didn't know where I was!

Blunder, I measured from erpc, as tht was the only definite I knew. Mc started over a week before that, and bleeding never really stopped. I had been told 4 to 6 weeks, and that ties in exactly. Fx for you soon. X

Hi folks, hope you're all doing ok. 8dpo here, been symptom spotting but they were things like vivid dreams, sore throat, tiredness etc. I thought "I'm so not pregnant this month" and then earlier I suddenly got a massive sharp stabbing pain for 2-3 seconds in my left boob, which I dont usually get in run up to af, so now I don't know what to think. I'm lying here with vague heartburn, just wondering... Wondering... Confused

BelissimaLol · 03/12/2012 10:17

At the doctors. She referred me to EPU as she said I look anxious (no shit!) and am having some ovulation pain so it's better to check it out.
I'm disgusted my notes don't show I had mc last time.
I'm scared to go back to that place but I suppose its a good thing.

BraveLilBear · 03/12/2012 10:51

Hey y'all, happy Monday. Today is a new day.

Oooh symptom spotting James I like it! Any other symptoms to report? Keep us posted! Everything crossed for you.

BLol Sorry you're struggling still. After all my positivity the last week or so, I had a major wobble yesterday due to stabby pains that developed into moderate cramps that lasted on and off all day. It is SO hard to push worries to the back of your mind.

Great that your GP is being sympathetic, tho sucks that previous mc not recorded. Will they amend that? And, even though it's scary to go back to EPU, at least you're in the best possible environment. Stay positive hun, we're here on standby.

BombasticPeanut · 03/12/2012 11:44

james about 5dpo here I think hope as didn't use opk this month. Once again attempting to symptom spot non-existent symptoms. Convinced myself my boobs felt funny (they don't) and desperately trying to feel nauseous (I'm don't!). On the other hand, I've had some crazy weird dreams, some of which were very a little fruity. So who knows? Hoping so hard for good news this time, it's been a well and truly shitty 4 months waiting so far, but am struggling to convince myself to be positive tbh. FX for you, boob pain sounds hopeful!

Blol I think you've run out of free hands but there's a spare one here in case you need it!

I don't know if I've congratulated all the BFP girls, if I've missed anyone then congratulations and fx for sticky beans all round!

anda hooray for PMT!

Right, off to walk the dog. Brrrrrrr. On the bright side, good opportunity to see if boobs notice the cold

BelissimaLol · 03/12/2012 12:04

Have a scan 3pm today. I will let you know. Thanks for being so lovely x

andadietcoke · 03/12/2012 12:41

Blol i'll take a foot. I do awesome foot massages (mum has just had a knee replacement and I'm being a dutiful daughter so have had lots of recent practice).

Good luck at the EPU Thanks Better to go and get checked out than sitting at home and worrying. Hopefully they'll be able to see something very positive and it'll put your mind at rest xxx

BelissimaLol · 03/12/2012 12:44

So I now have both hands and a foot being held by you lovely ladies?! How else could I survive this.
I'll keep you posted x

andadietcoke · 03/12/2012 12:45

James all very valid symptoms worth spotting - you get ten points for each. Especially vivid dreams, maybe 20 points for them - I quite miss them! 50 points for stabbing boob pains, unless cured by gaviscon Wink

Fx for you!

andadietcoke · 03/12/2012 12:47

BombasticP you can have 30 points for fruity dreams Smile

Sorry for all the posts - on the app and you can't scroll down, and my memory's crap etc etc etc

BraveLilBear · 03/12/2012 12:52

Yay for the fruity dreams Bombastic - I agree with anda def a 30-pointer!

And let the innovative opportune symptom spotting commence! Grin

Fx for your scan BLol.... keep us posted if you can wrestle a hand free long enough to type

Btw to answer the question above re pregnancy apps, I'm using I'm Expecting, which is free and I like it so far. They did weird things to my dates, so manually adjusted the LMP to get it so that it would tally with my dates.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 03/12/2012 13:44

Blol, very best of luck to you, I hope everything goes smoothly at the scan, I'll be checking in later to see how you got on. x

No other real symptoms, I feel pretty normal really. I poas this morning (9dpo) but it was an opk not a hpt as I probably shouldn't waste the hpt's before 12dpo. Anyway I used an opk because I have lots of them, and I read that they can pick up hcg a little earlier than hpt's can, although the result is only an indicator, not to be trusted as obviously any line on an opk's can also just be from the presence of LH in the urine (from ovulation). More info here although I'm sure I'm teaching you to suck eggs. Xmas Wink

Anyway, after all that waffle, there's a line. A faint one. I don't know if it means anything, I'm just going to keep doing opk's for the next few days and then swap to hpt's from 12dpo, and hope it'll be for real. I'm not "excited" because I know it may not mean anything. And last time I was pregnant I had this full sensation around the womb area, and I was bloated, full of wind, heartburn etc and I haven't had any of that yet so I don't know what to think. Speculating is fun though! Good luck peanut! Xmas Smile

kittenskittenskittens · 03/12/2012 14:13

James I have used an opk a few times while pregnant, first time I thought implantation was af so had started using them again cd13 , very positive and second time because I had one and not a hpt and again pos but it can't just be a line it has to be a positive ( stronger then control line) just don't want you to get hopes up too much as I get a line everytime I use them, also they are not as sensitive as tests though as I used one last time at the beginning when I'd had a + frer and cb and it was neg scared the shit out of me! So I'd advise hpt really
Good luck to lol, hope it puts you mind at rest that it's in the correct place etc, I think at 5 wks you will be too early for a heart beat x

BettyFlutterbly · 03/12/2012 14:18

Hi ladies,

I haven't been here for absolutely ages and now I feel like I'm a newby again!!
I haven't read through all your posts yet but might sit and have a browse if dd naps for a little bit longer.

I got af last month before I even had the chance to poas so didn't even bother to come on here and moan!! I am now on cycle 3 after mc in Sept and am 13dpo.
I usually ov around day 18 but ov'd on cd15 this month so don't know if I'll still be due on on the cd31 as usual or before that.

I'm not really having any symptoms except for that little scratchy feeling inside which I am convincing myself is implantation. I've had it before though and then af came.

How are you all doing? Peanut, have you changed your name or are you another Peanut?
I feel like we've all been on here for far too long now. I'll be more than happy not to drink over xmas and be moaning about morning sickness!!

Come on BFPs!!!!!!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 03/12/2012 15:32

Welcome back Betty, 13dpo, when are you planning to test? Smile

Kitten thanks for the info on opk's, sounds like it shouldn't be trusted then! Just as an experiment, I did another this afternoon (Addict!!!) because the Lh is supposed to build through the day and hcg builds through the night yeah? So I thought if it has picked up just Lh the line will be stronger by 3pm, and if it's picked up hcg it will either be fainter than the one using fmu or the same. There was no line on the afternoon test. So that could suggest it picked up a teeny tiny bit of hcg this morning, or it could all be bollocks Grin Time will tell!

Hope you're ok blol x

kittenskittenskittens · 03/12/2012 15:44

Trying to make sence of that...... Hmm
Hcg doesn't just build up at night it is continuous but you are advised to use fmu early on as it can take a while to show in urine so you get the most concentration over night, not sure how lh is picked up using them in my case was accidental first time then as an experiment til I could go the shop next time, not sure it is really saying anything at this point but you can always do your own experiments, think a good hpt would show up before opt though

BraveLilBear · 03/12/2012 16:13

Welcome back Betty Smile There was a spate of namechanging not long back after a string of 'B' names (mine included) suddenly got BFPs hence BombasticPeanut and Blundercats and BelissimaLol* and a few others!

I'd say early ov means early AF/BFP I reckon as Luteal phases don't tend to change that much.

Oooo James I have no idea what any of that means, but I like the scientific experiment element of discovery! Fx that when you swap to hpt the lines keep coming...
