Hi ladies, need some MN cyber hugs tonight, came home, logged on facebook and one of my best friends has posted her scan photos - I knew she was PG but seeing the piccie just felt like a kick in the gut :-(

Oh zombies I really hope it is the start of something beautiful!! You never know...

Doctors was totally underwhelming. Told him excitedly that i was pg, date of last AF, that i had a mc last year, and could i be referred to the midwife. Took blood pressure, weighed me ("your BMI is in normal range" - urrrr yes I know) and asked if pg was planned (I replied very much so - but came away wondering what that had to do with him). A nurse walked in to ask him to sign some prescriptions and I was dismissed with a wave and as I walked out he said 'make sure you take folic acid'. Wow.

Oh I exaggerate, there was more to it then that. He also said he'd refer me to the local hospital. I said I didn't want that one (5mins drive from mine) but another hospital I had my mc in (10 mins drive away) and he said he couldn't do that, I had to go to the local one. I politely said I didn't think this was true, given (after a slight row) I was referred to the other one last time. He said that 'on this occasion' he'd do it but they're not supposed to. Idiot. The doctor last time admitted it's easier to refer me to the local one as it can be done through a shared computer system, other referrals take actual paperwork. So what you lazy buggers, I'm not stupid and I know what I want...Angry

janey1234 · 08/11/2012 17:56

Oh bunny - cross post - poor you Sad

Lots of virtual hugs. I've been there many times over the years (found it massively hard even when single as it meant I couldn't even ttc even though I desperately wanted children) - am sure we all have - and even when you already know, somehow seeing the scan (or the bump) makes it much harder Sad

Have some wine, and remind yourself you won't be able to do that soon Smile

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 08/11/2012 18:34

Hugs bunny. It'll be your turn soon.

HazleNutt · 08/11/2012 19:38

Poor bunny, of course it's difficult to see. Especially if the friends are several years younger and you think that hey, what are you doing pregnant? It's my turn!

Janey how annoying with the "can't...well actually can, but just don't want to..". I totally expect a similar row with mine tomorrow over my thyroxine - I bet he's going to do the usual "No, no need to change, you're within the normal range". Well, I'm at the upper end and feel better when I'm as low as possible, so I don't see any reason not to adjust the dosage, but for some reason it's always a fight with all docs. Sigh.

winkle2 · 08/11/2012 20:49

Sending you Big Hugs bunny. It's so difficult, it just has to be our turn soon.

Zombie - sorry it turned into AF :(

Pipbin · 08/11/2012 21:08

So Zombie, is it AF or not? I'm hoping not, brown spotting can be a good sign. Can you have a cheeky POAS just in case?

Bunny It's dreadful isn't it. My Facebook is just full of pregnant women, in fact there are three due in the same week, three who have just had theirs and the rest of them had their a couple of years ago. Seems its just me who is not up the stick.

winkle2 · 08/11/2012 21:43

There's a girl I know who started trying the same month as me and got preg first time and now I have to see her pics on fb. Today's was '15 weeks today'. Such a reminder of what I could have had.

Pipbin · 08/11/2012 21:47

We will be seeing a friend at Christmas who started trying after us, got pg after two months and now has a three month old.
I don't think I'll be able to stand it.
That and three pregnant women at work. grrrrrrr

winkle2 · 08/11/2012 21:56

Big sighs pip.

Rache1S · 08/11/2012 22:07

Oooo Zombies you've got me all excited that there's another BFP on the way. 4 days before AF is due sounds very promising. If it's implantation then POAS tomorrow might show a BFP? Grin

Bunny, Winkle & Pipbin, my alter-ego Mystic Rach has confided in me that it will be your turn very soon and to get yourselves stocked up on Gaviscon and Haemorrhoid Cream Smile

Bunnygirlie · 08/11/2012 22:13

Yes our turn soon please :-) we need more BFPs, I think we have more pg regulars then TTC regulars on this thread now!!!

Bunnygirlie · 08/11/2012 22:13

And thank you for the cyber hugs x

Bunnygirlie · 08/11/2012 22:14

Gee thanks mystic Rach, sounds like fun ;-)

OP posts:
winkle2 · 08/11/2012 22:38

Ooh zombie I got it wrong. Fx it turns into a BFP!

I like the sound of mystic Rache :)

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 09/11/2012 07:28

Tests this morning dash Zombies hopes!
Stay tuned for the December edition of The Monthly Hope. GrinGrin

Bunnygirlie · 09/11/2012 08:35

Sorry Zombie!

So winkle and pipkin, still waiting like me and captain and zombie, Whassup? You on 2ww or ov or?

OP posts:
janey1234 · 09/11/2012 09:16

How many DPO are you again zombies? Maybe, just maybe it's just a bit too soon...? Last month I got a BFN one day, then a BFP the next, so you never know.... Everything crossed for you....

winkle2 · 09/11/2012 10:20

I'm on cd22. Because I haven't had my peak on the CBFM I'm just gonna keep going till AF/I'm too tired!

happylass · 09/11/2012 11:06

Tested stupidly early yesterday at 11dpo and of course it was BFN. Can just feel AF creeping up on me today Sad. Onwards and upwards to cycle 3 and a festive BFP.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 09/11/2012 11:11

Because of how erratic my cycle is I actually am not sure how many dpo but imagine about 12 days by my calculation. In any event they were super nice at my apptmt and will run some tests + give me metformin.
Enough about me! I've hogged enough thread space already.
It's Friday!!

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 09/11/2012 11:22

Sorry to hear that happy Sad
We will persevere!!

Purplemonster · 09/11/2012 11:25

Yeah, yay to Friday. And avoid facebook everyone, it is a thing of evil destined only to make you miserable. I got so tired of looking at pictures of other people's children and happy perfect families that I avoid it now. Life is better this way. Being pregnant has not changed my opinion on this and I solemnly swear to not make people miserable who are ttc via my facebook page.
Good luck TTCers, it's the weekend, get busy trying to make babies.

HazleNutt · 09/11/2012 11:26

So I had a scan this morning again and there definitely was a heartbeat. Everything looks fine.
Got tons of papers to fill in and some stern reminders not to eat too much chocolate (I don't) and that allowed weight gain is 1 kilo per month (honestly, I'm not that fat, but that's France for you). More blood tests, apparently they check for some things every 3 weeks here - toxo, thyroid hormones in my case and a few other things. And will have 3 more scans and will see the doc every month - that's a lot of appointments. Quite different in the UK, yes?

janey1234 · 09/11/2012 11:48

Oh hazle that's brilliant news. Once the heartbeat is seen I've been told the risk of mc goes down significantly...

Yeah, SO different to the UK. I wish I was in france! It's pretty standard in the UK for two scans (although different in some health authorities) - one at 12 weeks, one at 20. And I think no more doctors appointments - and nothing happened in the first (and only) one! Only midwives from now on - assuming all is well....
