Chuck. My DH had low motility. He took a daily multivitamin, nothing special just regular Boots stuff. He then had an SA done about 6 months after the first and his motility was the highest the doctor had ever seen!
Also worth bearing in mind that DH doesn't drink, smoke or eat meat. I'm not saying any of those had anything to do with it, but it cutting down on booze and fags won't do anything any harm.

winkle2 · 27/10/2012 11:15

Chuck - low motility can be sorted through the usual cutting down on booze and fags, wearing loose undies, healthy diet and exercise, taking the vits and no laptop on lap. My husband had low morphology which seems to be the one that you can't change. No one has given us any advice on it and google is ambiguous. He did another sa this week so we get the results back next week and we're seeing the docs the week after. Want to find out how much morphology affects conception. Bad luck on AF arriving too.

Cd9 here and monitor says high so we'll be dtd tonight.

Purplemonster · 27/10/2012 11:27

Well you know how I've been putting off testing? Decided I couldn't put it off any more and it was best to just know the bad news and guess what? I'm only fucking pregnant. Don't believe it, in total shock, shaking, was the fastest, darkest line you've ever seen (not that I know about these things given I've only ever tested once ever before) I can't believe it. I'm so sorry to all those people for who it is taking a while to conceive. Given the fact that I'm 30 I fully expected it to take a year or so hence why I'm so in shock that I've got IMMEDIATELY pregnant whithout even trying. Oh my god, how am I going to tell OH (yes, I'm afraid I HAVE told all of you first, he's at work) oh my god oh my god oh my god....

Quodlibet · 27/10/2012 11:35

WOW Purplemonster that is brilliant news! Congratulations!
This Elderberry thread is really turning up the BFPs!

I am on CD12 here and unusually for me no spotting yet. Have just spent 20 mins googling whether allergies are an early pg symptom as I have had HORRENDOUS hayfever for the last few days...or possibly it's the Greek pollen, but I don't normally get hayfever...Dr Google says it can be a symptom...

Purplemonster · 27/10/2012 11:43

Oh I'm so FX for everyone, I feel GUILTY for getting pregnant by luck not judgement. I'm so sorry everyone!
How do I find out how far along I am without any proper dates to go on? don't they date from your last period? I haven't had one so how does that work? What can I do to calm myself down without the use of caffeine alcohol or nicotine? Thank god I at least had the good sense to take folic acid, it feels like the only thing I've got right so far.

winkle2 · 27/10/2012 12:02

Well done purple and congrats!!

Quodlibet · 27/10/2012 12:26

You shouldn't feel guilty or sorry, you should feel DELIGHTED!!
I don't know how you date it though I'm afraid...Did you say you've been off the pill 4 weeks?

Pipbin · 27/10/2012 12:56

Congratulations Purple. See, what did I say.

Well 11DPO here. Tiny bit of red spotting this morning, but nothing since. Slight dull ache across my bikini line, don't I remember someone saying they had that before their BFP........?

Purplemonster · 27/10/2012 13:28

Thanks everyone, the hyperventilating is gradually slowing down. Yes Pipbin, I've had lots of cramps all over the damn place for weeks, strange stabby pains, low throbbing pains, dull aches, all sorts, that's why I've been so convinced that I wasn't pregnant and that I was just building up to a really horrendous 'ha ha you've come off the pill' mother natures revenge style AF.
Do you think those tests that tell you how many weeks pregnant you are are actually any good? Maybe I should get one of those to give me a clue?
Trying to think of some witty or cute way of telling OH the news, although knowing me I'll just blurt it out the second he crosses the threshold.

Pipbin · 27/10/2012 13:50

A ClearBlue digital might help. I've never had a BFP so I have no personal experience of them.
However they date from conception rather than the date your doctor will give you which is from your last period.
They are expensive, however cheaper on Amazon, if you can wait that long.

janey1234 · 27/10/2012 14:14

I'm on my phone do am going to have Ho reply to you one by one do I can remember what I'm saying! Firstly - pure - massive congrats! Fabulous news. Yes if you have the cash get a clear blue digital, will tell you if you're 1-2 weeks or 2-3 weeks pg. or just go to the doctors and make it their job to work it out! Wink

janey1234 · 27/10/2012 14:15

Pip - I have weird stitch type feelings which was why I splashed out on an early response test. I have one spare - wish I could give it to you! It was quite unlike any other exercise or AF feelings, was weird... Absolutely everything crossed that's what it is...

janey1234 · 27/10/2012 14:18

Quod - no idea about allergies as I don't usually get them. But weirdly someone at work commented that I've been sneezing all week. I thought I was getting the cold my bf's had, but no sign of that. Fingers crossed it's one of those weird symptoms?

Bunnygirlie · 27/10/2012 16:08

Hey girls, congrats on the BFPs.

My hubby has just gone out, I went to the loo and looks like AF is on her way :-( It's only 5th month of disappointment but had complete meltdown sobbing into my pillow. If it's like this now I cannot imagine what it's like to try for 12months plus. Why oh why isn't it easier :-(

Pipbin · 27/10/2012 16:17

Hey Janey thanks but I have that many pg tests I could give Boots a run for their money.
I've been doing a trial for ClearBlue so I have stacks of tests from them, not to mention the hundreds I've already bought.
It's just a dull ache, tbh much much more like AF than a stich.
I just want AF to hold off until Tuesday, which is when she's due. If that happens then I can start on Clomid straight away as I'll be on day 2 when I get the prescription.

janey1234 · 27/10/2012 16:31

Oh bunny I'm so so sorry Sad

Quodlibet · 27/10/2012 16:59

Oh Bunny I think we've all been there. Sorry it doesn't look like your month this month. Allow yourself time to be disappointed about it.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 27/10/2012 17:18

Congratulations purple!! That's bfp number 4!
I'm sorry bunny. Sad
Out of interest - all you knocked up elderberries, how many dpo did you get stitches and aches?

Pipbin · 27/10/2012 17:30

Bunny, we've all done that. I allow myself a cou

Pipbin · 27/10/2012 17:31

Damn phone.....

A couple of hours to wallow in self pity when AF comes. After that its onwards and upwards.

Pipbin · 27/10/2012 17:59

Hmmm, more spotting, but thinner and pinker than I normally get. I'm sure that AF is on her way though.

janey1234 · 27/10/2012 18:50

Zombies - I think mine were about 9 or 10 after...

Did an Internet cheapie for the hell of it, even though I'm not due on until tomorrow or mon. Felt pretty sure I'd get a BFN but the pale line was there... Just need it to get darker now...

winkle2 · 27/10/2012 19:47

So sorry she got you bunny. It's rubbish isn't it :(

HazleNutt · 27/10/2012 19:52

Congrats Purple! Yes, do the Clearblue Digital, you'll get some idea how far along you might be. Note that the Clearblue will tell you weeks from conception though and not from last AF like doctors would do, see here:
www.clearblue.com/uk/new-clearblue-digital-pregnancy-test-with-conception-indicator.php

Zombies I had cramps and backache a few days before AF was due, also maybe 9-10 days dpo?

Bunnygirlie · 27/10/2012 20:02

Thanks for the sympathy ladies, needed some cyber love (that sounds wrong) as home alone, But had a big bowl of comfort pasta and now time for a scrummy pud [hgrin]

I daren't even mention it to hubby as he keeps saying 'don't get depressed bun it'll happen one day' I want to scream maybe it will but I still have the right to be blue for an hour or two :-p
