Well zombies I know it's very early days, but I'd already decided I wouldn't tell any family until after a 12 week scan. It was so heartbreaking last time to see them so gutted about me having a mc at 12 weeks, and it almost made it worse - that I'd somehow let them down. So I knew I wouldn't tell them until after the scan as I wouldn't want to get their hopes up. God knows how I will get through Christmas without drinking though! I will tell my friends closest friends though - they were absolutely amazing last time when it all went wrong, and I know I'd want/need their support if it were to happen again. I think it was a bit much last time as I told them I was pg and had a mc in the same e-mail, so knew if I was pg again I'd tell them from the start. Plus three of us were all ttc at the same time so we talk about it all the time!

And I really don't think I'm in touch with my body. But the stitch was a weird feeling and did make me wonder...

Chuckaluck · 26/10/2012 11:10

Congrats Janey! Fab news!
Went to GP and got day 21 blood test results. Apparently I got 34g progesterone and they look for it to be over 30 so happy with that as it means I am ovulating! Does anyone know if that is good or bad result though as I have heard of some people being 60g so not sure if I am borderline?? DH getting SA results later. Am worried about him to be honest, not sure how he will feel if he has a problem Confused

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 26/10/2012 11:42

Fx for you chuck !

janey1234 · 26/10/2012 12:05

I know very little about it chuck, but I think if they think the number is good then it must be! Fx for him [hsmile]

Pipbin · 26/10/2012 12:54

Congratulations Janey.
Heavy spotting today TMI mainly brown but with a little red. So I'm think I'm out this month. 10DPO so there is a slim chance of it being implantation but I'm not convinced.
I was very brave and went to say congratulations to my friend at work who announced yesterday.

janey1234 · 26/10/2012 12:56

Oh pip I really hope it is... Just googled and it said it's typically 6-10DPO that implantation occurs... Fingers glued together that it is...
Well done on being brave - we've all been there, and it's tough...

HazleNutt · 26/10/2012 13:26

congrats janey!! Yay!

I had my first appointment and they could see a yolk sac, but too early to see anything else yet, so another scan in 3 weeks. They really like to scan you here in France. Also will have some blood tests, everything from blood sugar to toxo and got some vitamins prescribed.

zombie I will tell my best friend after the next scan, but not anybody else. As I'll have my 12 week scan on 6th of Dec, we'll probably tell them during Christmas dinner.

winkle2 · 26/10/2012 14:36

fx for you pip.

chuck let us know how your OH's results go.

janey1234 · 26/10/2012 14:39

I wish I lived in France... I want scans all the time! 12 weeks is SO long to wait. I think I'm 12 weeks on Christmas day! The scan will no doubt be after (esp as I land back from Thailand at 6am on 24th) - gutted I won't be able to tell family for Christmas, but hey ho.

(realise I am totally getting ahead of myself btw, and that's it's VERY EARLY days indeed)

Must have been reassuring to see something though hazle, especially after last month, congratulations again :o)

HazleNutt · 26/10/2012 14:56

So how do things work in the UK, would you just go for the 12 week or have some tests before as well? Here they want to test quite a long list of things.

Yes, was indeed nice to see the ..blob? Grin

janey1234 · 26/10/2012 15:13

You go to the doctors, and tell them you're pg. They don't check, take your word for it, and enter you into the 'system'.

Then you get a letter through confirming your 12 week scan, giving you your NHS pg card (free prescriptions etc) and give you a booking in appointment with a midwife. My friend had her booking in at 10 weeks (so before scan) - mine was scheduled for 14 weeks (so after 12 week scan). No idea what happens at booking in appointment, but basically yes, you're on your own for the first 2 months or so....

captainmoll · 26/10/2012 16:00

Hurray Janey! Great news. I was also told yesterday by a friend who has A LOT of serious health problems - genetic, chronic stuff, that she has managed to conceive - she's been my ttc buddy in the real world for the last year or so, so it's such a big light at the end of the tunnel. If she can beat the odds, we all can.
Good luck all upcoming POASers. I'm still a bit confused by my cycle this month and wondering whether our one night of DTD was accidentally well timed to a late OV. The suspense!

hazel Is it true that in France you're allowed to be pregnant for an extra two weeks? Someone told me this once - they are much more relaxed about due dates and less inclined to induce.

HazleNutt · 26/10/2012 17:33

captain not sure, haven't checked that far ahead yet. I know that they do offer epidurals generously though, no talks about rationing them to cut costs.

Purplemonster · 26/10/2012 17:56

Congratulations janey! Ooh how exciting.

Purplemonster · 26/10/2012 17:58

and to Pipbin, sorry you're having a shit time of it, seeing as it's not done to offer hugs I offer Wine instead

Pipbin · 26/10/2012 19:00

You can offer hugs Purple.
I have wine but the spotting does seem to have stopped.
However this happens every month, I get spotting the I get a day of no spotting before AF turns up.

winkle2 · 26/10/2012 20:10

How did the docs go chuck?

Rache1S · 26/10/2012 22:14

Congratulations Janey, that's brilliant news!! You did say that you thought this was your month so well done you for being so optimistically fertile! Grin

Wow Hazle if you're 12 weeks on the 6th December then you must be 7 + 1 now which is quite far along? I'm Glad your scan went well and I am very jealous as I would love to see our microscopic little bean. Hmmm, is it too late to move to France I wonder? Smile

Bunnygirlie · 26/10/2012 23:19

YAY janey Congrats, fab news!

Think AF is on it's evil way, bit of upset tum tonight which sometimes happens a few days beforehand :-( Both my apps predict I'm due 30th so expecting the wench to turn up any day now

Chuckaluck · 27/10/2012 07:52

DH got his results and he has low motility. Not sure of the numbers etc but they are sending that in a letter. Feel better as I think I had just convinced myself that one of us would have something so bad, we were never going to be able to have kids! But them I start to feel like 'why hasn't it happened yet'? But anyway AF also arrived this morning so off to month 13 of TTC we go! Anyone know of anything we can do to help with the low motility?

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 27/10/2012 08:10

chuck I think zinc supplements are supposed to help with motility.

ZombiesAreClammyDodgers · 27/10/2012 08:13

chuck I presume it must at least be a relief to know the issue and what you can do.
Here you go:

ezinearticles.com/?How-to-Increase-Sperm-Motility-in-5-Easy-Steps&id=2117562
Google also revealed several supplements specifically intended to increase motility.

HazleNutt · 27/10/2012 08:27

Rach I should be 6 + 1, according to this pregnancy.about.com/cs/pregnancycalendar/l/blpregcalc.htm the 12th week starts on 6th of Dec. I'm a bit nauseous this morning - morning sickness is supposed to start around 6 weeks, so bean certainly seems to be on schedule.

Rache1S · 27/10/2012 09:00

Hazle I also feel a bit nauseous this morning but I think that has more to do with DH stinking of last night's curry, although it could mean my sense of smell is increasing.

I am such a moron sometimes! I have been using the wrong date to calculate my due date and turns out that I am more likely to be end of June than July. I am 5+2 though like I thought so at least I got that bit right! It also brings my scan date forward to before Christmas which is good news.

HazleNutt · 27/10/2012 09:06

oh yes, I keep smelling all kinds of things that DH clams he can't. So we should be due around the same time, give or take a few days Smile
