tips for others announcements

Only been TTC for a few months but expecting it to take a while, I have PCOS. Today at work a colleague announced we was pregnant. Obviously very happy for her but also jealous! I need to work out how to deal with this or I'll drive myself crazy!

What are you tips for dealing with this while TTC?

I had close friends announcing theirs for every cycle of ttc and always surrounded by them. Had a cry each time. Allow yourself to feel if all - anger, jealousy, sadness, pain and the unfairness of it all.

Then just think about you becoming pregnant one day and making a similar announcement. Tell yourself it will take time and accept that. Join in the "Congratulations" even though it is fake. I still ask my friends how their pregnancies are going even though I'm not really interested in knowing. Sounds horrible of me but its my coping mechanism. Fake smiles and strong exterior. I can't let anyone see how I feel on the inside.

I know what you mean about FB, or even just on the tube it's bumps everywhere!

I like your idea though and I did buy some wine on the way home so I think thats my main plan for now!

Remember for bumps this is the worst time of year (most babies born in September!). I agree, smile, have a cry in private. A diary can help to vent. With certain people, I explained we had problems TTC (can't do that with everyone!). That way they may be a bit more sensitive. For example, I did it with one friend and it helped. One colleague is a nightmare: anything you say it's well try being pregnant or You wait til you've had kids. irony is I am now pregnant but I'm not telling her! Don't tell someone like that!
