Hi girls
Just checking in as came back from Iceland this evening and am knackered.
Hope everyone is good!

winkle2 · 20/11/2012 23:23

Welcome back lol!!

redstrawberry · 21/11/2012 07:05

Getting ready to go to work - don't feel pregnant at all Sad

How much longer do I have to wait for that bfp

LittleMissSnowShine · 21/11/2012 07:20

Welcome back lol

thingy - yep symptom spotting is pretty stupid!! With DS because he was a bit of a surprise, my cycles were irregular and i wasny charting, noyicing a couple of v obvious symptoms was the only way I knew to take a test but I was about 5 weeks pg then...not...errr...3!

red - sounds fairly positive all the stuff fertility specialist was saying, def going to invest in some wellman.conception!! I have pcos and it is a bit of a flipping nightmare for ttc in.some ways but obviously I have been pg twice in last 3 years so its not as bad s it sounds when you first start reading up about it online.

CD20 today, pretty sure ov happened around cd15 (tho we're continuing to dtd up to cd24 or so). Let the 5 dpo deeply unadvisable symptom spotting commence!!! www.countdowntopregnancy.com/early-pregnancy-symptoms/dpo-chart.php?dpo=5 def hav a bit of 3 & 5 but those are two v vague symptoms that could really be caused by anything so think i'll hold off cracking out the champagne Schloer for now lol

winkle2 · 21/11/2012 08:22

I hate that feeling red. When you just know. If its any consolation then I've been through it too.

We looked up ASA last night and oh is going to go and get that tested. I'll let you know the result.

I just feel like I'm getting mentally ready for IVF as its not going to happen naturally for us.

It's my best mates 30th this weekend. Another occasion I thought I'd be pregnant / have a baby for...

OP posts:
redstrawberry · 21/11/2012 08:43

Thanks winkle. Also if it helps, the FS might refer you for an IUI instead of IVF. My friend had an IUI. She got 3 rounds of it free on the NHS but luckily conceived on the 2nd. I hope you don't have to do either.

I have asked DH to start on Vitamin C 1000mg a day as its said to help with morpho and Antisperm Antibodies. So hopefully we should kill the ASA with that.

I am just all out of options. The fertility specialist said we were both very healthy in our blood reports and diet. All of that stuff came back fine. I just hope if we improve the sperm I can finally get my baby.

Strangely DH doesn't seem worried about it all. Instead I am doing all the worrying for both of us.

Kittenkatzen · 21/11/2012 10:54

Congrats on the job interview littlemiss!

Welcome back lol did you have a lovely time? Iceland is beautiful isn't it...did you get to see the Northern Lights?

red keep your chin up lovely, the results weren't terrible by any stretch of the imagination and now you're able to move forward knowing that you're actively doing something to help fix the issues. You WILL get your bfp - I can feel it in my bones :o

redstrawberry · 21/11/2012 11:42

oh lol sorry I totally missed your post. welcome back from Iceland. And yes did you see the Northern Lights? I would love to see them one day.

Thanks kitten

redstrawberry · 21/11/2012 14:09

I have been thinking about not giving up and remaining positive. I have a plan for December. If I am not preggers this month, I will be going on mission 'Swim, Sperm, Swim' :)

So I thought, DH's soldiers are going to struggle to swim and I want to do everything I can to help them meet my eggy.

So my Swim Sperm Swim plan is to work on my cervical mucus by taking:

1000mg EPO - upto OV.
Robutussin - 2tsp a day upto OV.
2L of Water - I WILL drink more water. I am ashamed to say the only time I drink water right now is at night after dinner while taking my pregnacare.
1 glass of Grapefruit juice every day upto OV.
DTD using Conceive Plus.

I am going to make sure my CM is not acidic and I make my body well hydrated to help those swimmers along. I am a vegetarian so eat plenty of fruit and veg and nuts. Just not enough water and hydration.

The month I had the CP was the month I took EPO. So I am hoping this theory works.

DH is on Wellman Conception and Vitamin C 1000mg per day, loose boxers, no cycling, and lots more water for him too.

Whatever it takes to get the sperm to go an a date with my egg.....

LittleMissSnowShine · 21/11/2012 17:59

lol red, dream date! never tried robutussin so i'll be interesyed to see how you get on, i've heard about other ladies using it, might give it a whirl!!

Strange having this job interview next week - it will only be cd25 of a 30 dayish cycle so wont know if Im pg. If I get offered it i might hav a bit of a dilemma if I get my bfp!! Tho that would be an amazeballs week ...Another shag tonight and another one on Fri or Sat and then i'm out for the month

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 21/11/2012 20:57

I've missed loads of posts.

littlemiss best if luck with your job interview. Seems like you are poking Sod's law "ooh it would be really inconvenient if I got pregnant this month" good plan.

lol hope you had a good hol.

red sorry about your dh's analysis but it does sound like it can be improved, your plan got swim sperm swim sounds like a good one.

I still have my head in the sand re starting to ttc again. I've planned it out and think I will ov around 4-8th Jan when I am ready to ttc again.

BelissimaLol · 21/11/2012 21:44

Hi girls
Name changed as there seems to be bfps going round with B names Grin
Yes I did see the lights on three out of the four nights (!!!). Second was the best. Absolutely breath taking. Iceland is amazing and there is so much to see in such a tiny place!
How's everyone doing?
Af due sat and I don't feel pg at all Sad.

Will not test until at least Monday if its not here. Anyone poas before me?

winkle2 · 21/11/2012 22:54

Sounds like a plan red. My oh takes vit c and zinc - zinc is supposed to be really good for sperm production.

Hi when and lol :)

OP posts:
redstrawberry · 22/11/2012 08:42

How much extra zinc Winkle? Also does an extra dosage of pine bark help?

winkle2 · 22/11/2012 08:51

I don't know how much it is, it's a combined tablet with the vit c. Ill find out and let you know. Oh only took one tub of the pine bark and switched to insitol which he read was good for cell production.

Why oh why do we have to do all this when some people get knocked up in alley ways and don't even want the baby :(

OP posts:
redstrawberry · 22/11/2012 11:19

I know winkle I ask the same question everyday. The day I got DH's sperm analysis results - my friend rang me to say she was thinking of trying for a baby but was not even sure if she wants one. She doesn't want to give up her career, does not want to get fat, does not want the responsibility of another person, does not want to give up her easy life. Yet she tells me she's having unprotected sex as she's just "curious" to find out what happens. She knows we are trying and yet she was so blaze about the whole thing.

Oh for f*cksakes! Part of me knows she's going to get pregnant and I am still going to be left trying everything under the sun to get that bfp. Why is the balance so unfair...

weechops · 22/11/2012 11:46

red that's really shitty of your friend, especially knowing how you're feeling. I think some people are so wrapped up in their own little bubble, they don't think of others feelings, or dismiss them if they don't relate to their own situation. Sorry mini rant there as I seem to be surrounded by selfish gits just now, in a variety of ways.

lol glad you had a good holiday. Maybe no symptoms are a good sign?

Kittenkatzen · 22/11/2012 14:21

Good grief red that's a horrible thing for anyone to say, let alone say it to someone you know is trying. What did you say back to her? I think I'd have struggled not to hang up on her tbh. I hope you're steeling yourself for her to get upduffed the first time she drops her pants :(

Thingymajigs · 22/11/2012 14:35

That was very insensitive of her red. I honestly don't think most people know what it's like to try for a baby for a prolonged amount of time. I certainly didn't appreciate how tricky it could be until I tried for this baby. I still don't have the full picture because I already have children but the process of trying and failing each month is emotionally exhausting and I imagine she just didn't realise how insensitive she was being.
little do you think you would take the job if you also had your BFP? I am ready to start looking for work now but I feel like I shouldn't while I'm still trying for a baby. But I also don't want to put my life on hold, it's tricky. Hope it goes well for you.
Btw, does anyone know how much evening primrose oil to use a day? My period has finally arrived today and I know it's unlikely but I'm hoping it could help with EWCM. I've got some 1000mg capsules but I don't want to go overboard. I'm rattling as it is with my vitamin, extra folic acid with calcium and 3 fish oil tablets a day. Blush

redstrawberry · 22/11/2012 17:59

I think you are right thingy a lot of women don't really understand what trying for a baby really means. kitten I think I was just peeved off and told her she was right abt not being ready for a baby and she wouldn't make a good mum when she has so many issues with being pregnant. That shut her up. And made me feel good for a change.

I can't feel a thing AF will be here on cue. I am just going to try and keep my chin up... thinking long term - if I might take 18-24 months to conceive so be it. I am still not stopping my life and putting things on a hold.

I'm planning a few hols with Dh. lol seeing the northern lights might be on the list ;) although maybe a sunny spot on a sunbed doesn't look too bad considering today's weather. I think my doors are rattling so hard they might actually blow away!

LittleMissSnowShine · 22/11/2012 20:06

red - Angry with your friend. I know ladies who havent been thru a rocky ttc process dont always appreciate how hard it is for someone who has been trying for months but a little empathy goes a long way, it doesnt seem so much to ask for her not to rub your face in it like that

winkle - rite, its fri tomorrow night, lets drink buckets of bacardi breezers and hav sex up an alley behind the pub, bfps for us all??

thingy - sorry af arrived :( i was thinking about looking for new job at the syart of the year but decided against it cos i love where i work and i was ttc but 10 months later one miscarriage, no baby and not pg again so i've decided to give it a try. my current job is a funded post til march 2014, one i hav interview for is til march 2015. if i get offered it and get bfp next week i prob will take it depending on how flexible they can be with working hours around DS. my only concern is both times i've been pg i've had HG which has put me on my back for 8 weeks so i'd prob hav to delay starting til late Jan but what will be will be i suppose!! hav to impress them on monday first

cd21, no possible symptoms at all but last 4 days in a row i hav been feeling unusually wrecked so that mite be something... maybe... err... well i'll wait and see...

winkle2 · 22/11/2012 22:36

Thingy I was bored and miserable in my old job and kept putting off getting a new one in case I got pregnant. Started my new job this week and so so happy. Not only has it given me something positive to focus on but I'm hoping that not being stressed about the old job might help me conceive?

OP posts:
WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 22/11/2012 23:21

Really glad you are enjoying the new job winkle being less stressed can only be a good thing.

thingy sorry about af

red and littlemiss hope af stays away

Had a meal out with old colleagues who I haven't seen for ages. Two of them asked if I was planning for baby no two. I lied and said not yet. Really didn't want to ruin the mood by talking about repeated chem pregs and referrals to gynocologist. Couldn't even get mad at them they didn't mean to ask awkward questions just didn't think.

LittleMissSnowShine · 23/11/2012 09:10

when - i felt so guilty in Jan when a friend of mine told me she'd had a mc on new years eve. Her and her husband had got married in 2010 and they are both super healthy fitness nuts with v high stress jobs so i'd just assumed they werent really thinking about kids yet but from time to time, like your old colleagues, i might have mentioned it. It turns out they'd been ttc for a year only for her to eventually get pg but lose the baby at 10 weeks. I felt mortified that i'd ever brought up babies in a jokey way and i am so careful not to ask anyone about stuff like that now. Story has a happy ending though, she's 38 weeks pg with #1 now. Hope we all hav that happy ending ahead in 2013!!!

LittleMissSnowShine · 23/11/2012 09:13

winkle - glad new job is going well!!
