Don't know if this is good news or bad.....but my boobs regularily leak & DD is 8 (not loads or often - but frequently)

fairyfly · 19/03/2006 17:10

8! When did you stop breastfeeding?

It's neither good or bad news tbh, the person in question only started ttc this month.

Fairyfly - could be a hormone imbalance or side effects of medication you are on. Happened to a friend of mine recently - thread \link{http://mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1364&threadid=154037&stamp=060311135634\here}
Turned out it was a medication side effect.

fairyfly · 19/03/2006 18:20

Gosh, i thought it would be really common also, thanks for the link. No medication though.........will relay all this info.

motherinferior · 19/03/2006 18:22

Yes, I was faintly perturbed at your extended breastfeeding prowess too.

fairyfly · 19/03/2006 18:25

I've actually had three more children while i've been away, irish, welsh and english, wanted to balance out the family. Long live Britain.

jabberwocky · 19/03/2006 18:36

Had a bit of leakage at my last check-up. It had been over a year since I last bf, dr. said it was totally normal.

An excess of prolactin (the milk producing hormone) can be a cause of this. A blood test would determine the level of this hormone in your bloodstream.

Too high a level of prolactin can affect ovulation so it ought to be treated. It can be treated with tablets.

fairyfly · 19/03/2006 19:26

Thanks Meerkat, im ringing her now and will read this down the phone ( im not giving her a link)
