Morning

I have been lurking on this board for a while and just wondered if you lovely mumnetters can offer some advice as I am getting myself completely confused!

My DH and I are ttc baby no 2 ? we have only been trying since July so I know it is very early days and this I am fine with, its my cycle that is confusing me.

My last period started on 14th August and finished on 18th August (it was a standard period nothing unusual). DH was then poorly and I was swamped at work and for one reason or another we didn?t dtd that week ? I thought this would be okay as I wasn?t expecting to ovulate so soon after my period finishing. We dtd on 26th August and have pretty much continued to dtd every 2 days or so however I have been using the OPK and haven?t had a positive result yet.

I was thinking that its either I ovulated the week after my period was finished and have missed the boat this month (is it possible to ovulate that soon after your period??), I am yet to ovulate and having a mega long cycle this month or I have ovulated and it hasn?t shown up on the OPK and I am still in with a chance this month (this is my favourite option Smile)

Does anyone have any experience of anything similar or have any suggestions as to what is going on??? My cycle is normal around 33 days so I was expected to come on this Sunday (16th) but that?s seems unlikely without the positive OPK result ? also I have been getting some very mild lower tummy pain and keep thinking it is ovulation pain and then no positive result???

At 28 years old I didn?t think baby making would be so confusing!!

I never had a +opk and I normally ov really early in my cycle, around about cd7-8.

Have you tried charting? Can give a really good indicator of what goes on with your cycle.

I haven't ever tried charting - is it fairly straightforward? X

Have a look on fertility friend. It's a site that gives loads of info. You have to take your temp every morning at the same time. Iirc it's before you get up.

With cycles at 33 days I would say it was very unlikely you'd ov early especially the week after af, mine are 26-32 days long and my ov varied between 17-19 days, theoretically your ov is usually 14days before first day of af, some people don't get +Ive opk unless they test at certain times of the day or not at all although I've always found them great and always get a Smile that ties in with other signs like cm,

Thanks, I thought it would have been strange for me to ovulate early as its out or the norm for me but you can just never tell - my body seems to just do its own thing!! I got a positive result from the OPK last month so I know the tests work - maybe I'm testing at the wrong time - I know there is a thread all about that at the moment. I will just keep testing and dtd x
