What might be causing a lengthening of cycles?

Since I got my period back after having dc1, I have had bang on 29 day cycles (coming on almost to the hour!) We have now decided to ttc another and last month (first month of ttc) my cycle suddenly decided to be 38 days (I did 3 tests in the additional week and all negative). This month again looks like it?s going to be another 38 day cycle as I am now on day 35. I haven?t tested yet as am going to wait till the 38 day point and see what happens, so there is a possibility that I am actually pregnant but more likely that it?s just another long cycle.

I am not ill, not stressed or anything, so what is going on (other than my body fucking with my head)?

I had a 43 day cycle 2 months ago. Have no idea what caused it and doc wasn't very helpful. Sorry :(

Same thing happens to me doctor: "unfortunately for you it happens to some women, for no real reason" thanks doc!

I've had the opposite problem. For last 3 months (since I decided to ttc again) I have had mega short cycles with short luteal phases. Don't know if it might be stress of counting down the days of the month as this month I have been on holiday so not ttc and it looks like cycle is normal length again.
