Ladies this thread is the one, I can feel it in my water [although maybe that's the drugs Hmm ], here you go Grin

Sorry this is short and sweet from me, firstly thanks for all the brooking again and secondly, welcome back Cupcakes good to have you back, I've missed you! I'll be brooking for you if you're not up to it at the moment! By the way I was given clomid even though there was need for it and it didn't do anything for me! Wish I could say something to make it all easier but I can totally understand the frustrations! They can't deny you IVF if you've been trying for about 3 years though!

Well I had my scan this morning and someone has been dancing particularly well as 2 of the follicles were at 20 & 21mm! another at 16mm and others still about 8-7mm. My lining is looking 'lovely' and I have just had a call from the clinic that egg collection is on Wednesday! Feels all a little scary now!

Sorry but I will try and post a little later and catch up properly with you all x

Solars · 08/10/2012 16:55

sorry 'even though there was no need for the clomid....'

Biscuitsandtea · 08/10/2012 17:03

Fab scan news solars Smile. I think it would be my DSs' dancing that yippee the balance Grin.

Brooking for Wed x

ScarlettInSpace · 08/10/2012 17:25

that's awesome news solars very pleased for you x

OP posts:
Biscuitsandtea · 08/10/2012 17:27

Yippee? Tipped I mean

Although yippee for the good scan Grin

PrincessPumpkinshoutsBOO · 08/10/2012 17:34

Solars that is brilliant news, really happy for you.

CupcakesAndCocktails · 08/10/2012 17:42

Great news Solars will be brooking like crazy for Wednesday. Congrats on your lovely lining Wink

Geeklette · 08/10/2012 18:40

Congratulations solars!! That is an amazing result! Brooking like mad for you for Wednesday.

cup I'm so sorry things have been so hard for you. I am sure you and MrCup will work things out, it's just so hard to know what to do for the best sometimes. Like the others though, I can't see why they would refuse you IVF. Does your county have any bizarre rules? I know they vary across the board.

beedle tomorrow? Wow, that's very short notice! Good luck lovely.

boo see recipe below (but be warned, I kind of made it up so I'm accepting no responsibility for anything if it doesn't turn out perfectly!!!)

geeklette's fab less than 100 calorie black forest gateau cupcakes

(makes 6 because I wasn't brave enough to make more on a trial run)

2 medium eggs
50g cocoa powder
50g self raising flour
8 tablespoons of granulated splenda or cheap Aldi equivalent
100ml cherry cola (sugar free)
Jar of black cherries in syrup infused with juice
50g double cream
1 square of bourneville dark chocolate

Preheat the oven to 180'c

Whisk the splenda, eggs and diet cola until blended and a bit frothy

Sift the flour and cocoa powder into the wet ingredients

Fold together gently with a spatula until it makes a wonderful guey dark brown mess

Divide between 6 paper cases and bake for 18 minutes

Leave to cool for 10 minutes, then gently gouge out a hole into the centre of each one (from the top) - make sure not to go all the way through!

Whisk up the double cream until it is thick and spreadable (rather than pourable). Make up an icing bag with a small piping nozzle, and put the stiff double cream into it ready for the fun.

Pop two cherries into each hole, then pipe the double cream over the top of each cupcake.

Stick a cherry on the top and finish with some finely grated bourneville dark chocolate.

Scoff the lot before anyone knows you baked 'em!

PrincessPumpkinshoutsBOO · 08/10/2012 18:56

Brilliant recipe advice there Geek I will be following the last part to the letter Grin

Beedle good luck tomorrow.

Cheery wave to everyone else, can't stay longer to name check I have to thrash and beat convince I teenager to do homework :(

BeedleTheBard · 08/10/2012 19:04

Wow geek they sound fab, though please excuse my ignorance, what is Splenda? Is is fake sugar? I'm not sure you can get cherry coke here either, I've never looked though. And you definately can't buy double cream here - anyone would think I was living in a third world country (apologies to anyone who actually does live in a third world country :o )

They did ask if I could accept a short notice appointment for the HSG, but I was a bit sceptical about how well it would work as they just go by my average cycle length and phone me. I didn't have to ring up on CD1 and beg for an appointment, as it seems most people have to on here. I've been told to take some painkillers and some other period-pain (?) type drugs an hour before.

solars well done on growing those follicles, I'm brooking for success on Wed

Geeklette · 08/10/2012 19:27

beedle yes, it's an artificial sweetener made from sucralose, and has almost none of the nasty aftertaste that goes with most artificial sweeteners. I'm devastated that you can't get cherry coke there though - that is surely criminal! Synthetic cream would work just as well, especially if you got a squirty can (not sure if you can get this in Sweden either - sorry if you can't :( )

SweetieDoesIt · 08/10/2012 20:49

Cupcakes lovely to have you back, sorry you & DH have been having a tough time. Hope you are at the other side of those difficulties and onwards to your BFP however you get there.

Beedle sorry to hear AF found you, but good news the medical stuff is progressing without delay. Good luck tomorrow for your HSG and MrB date with his jar.

Solars all those follie dancing has obviously work, what time is your trigger shot tonight? Good luck with it and just think no jabs tomorrow - yeah. Try not to worry about the egg collection, it was so much easier than I thought it would be. It was done under really heavy sedation so I have not real recollection of it. If you have any questions or concerns just ask or PM if you like. You have done so well to get to this point please try not to stress.

Geek those sound fab, unfortunately I am not blessed in the cookery or any other crafty department. Could you put me one in the post?

Sparks have you POAS yet?? . Lovely to have you back too my lovely, any chance you will be returning to fb soon? I loved seeing all your crafting genius

boo how you feeling now, still stiff or are you coping? Hope the family are still looking after you

I have been having a few pup issues, we think she may have allergies so are trying her on different food. She scratches all the time even though we have wormed and de-fleaed her to no avail.

I have no idea what day I am on or if I ovulated, I think I will have, but we are having a month off everything to give me/us a break after the IVF. It is like a breath of fresh air not to be tracking everything and dtd when neither of us really feel like it. Will be back on the band waggon next month, well maybe Wink

PrincessPumpkinshoutsBOO · 08/10/2012 21:08

Hiya Sweetie my legs are still a bit sore, I think it will be a few days until they are better. I have had another relaxing day, one benefit to Mr boo still having no luck finding work, he is waiting hand and foot on me :) I have had a complete emotional break down tonight (full explanation on the grad thread) I think it is just because I am still so tired.

I think some time off to relax and recoup after what you went through last month is a really good idea, hope you get to the bottom of pup's problem too.

Beedle no whipped cream you say Confused well I would start to petition the government if I were you, that is clearly not on!!! Brooking that you at very least have squirty cream in a can Grin

PrincessPumpkinshoutsBOO · 08/10/2012 22:06

Sparks did you poas/piar?

SecretSparkle · 08/10/2012 22:13

Sorry boo forgot to update

Booooo for BFN
Yaaay for antihistamines

PrincessPumpkinshoutsBOO · 08/10/2012 22:24

Oh Sparks I am sorry :(

Solars · 08/10/2012 22:34

I had a feeling it was your 2 bambino's that did the trick Biscuits :)

Beedle good luck for you and MrB for tomorrow, and btw no double cream?! Really!?

Mmmm Geek those sound yummy! I made scones this weekend!

Keep you're going to be busy, busy, busy with those appointments!

Sparkes yes any news? In terms of craftiness I'm 3 quarters of way of knitting a scarf, I'm going to need some help with tying in the ends soon!

Boo glad you're relaxing now!

Sweetie poor little pup! Trigger shot is at 11.30pm! Yes and I can't wait no more injections tomorrow although I was getting into quite a routine with them, it will be weird not injecting again tmrw I may be asking a few qs, is there anything you would recommend taking with you on the day? And how long after the procedure do they say its ok you can go home?

Solars · 08/10/2012 22:35

Sorry x-post plus very slow typer sorry about bfn, by the way how is that rash coming along? Is it better?

Solars · 08/10/2012 22:35

That was for Sparkes sorry

keepitgoing · 09/10/2012 03:17

sparks sorry to hear about the bfn, but at least now you can take some drugs!

solars am so happy for you with your follies. Does that mean three eggs are likely? Brilliant!!! Hope the trigger all went ok, and today is not too stressful. How much time do you have off work?

cup i've only ever had one day21 test, and it was just over 30. But i think it was slightly the wrong day, as af didn't show until 9 days later instead of 7. Hmmm. Will ask the doctors if they think it's be worth a few months. I think that's mean of your consultant to say he wouldn't monitor you etc etc. That's not exactly giving you a choice, is it... I think you don't need to worry about being denied IVF, do you? I thought everywhere offers it after three years. If you are denied it I would strongly suggest an appeal to the local Board. But I'm sure it won't come to that. Do you have any idea of the waiting list there? If not, then can I suggest getting a short term job with medical insurance in Thailand...? Smile

sweetie our kitty cat had that. I think she had been irritated by something, and then kept licking it and it got worse, so she kept licking it, etc. In the end she had some steroids from the vet, which I think broke the cycle of itching. If it is allergies they can be expensive, so get some pet insurance and wait two weeks before doing anything.... Glad you're feeling relaxed, and am awaiting your ironic bfp. Have you had your follow up appointment yet?

geek this is not on with the no-MN at work! love the sound of those cakes though.

maybe not long till you know your results then. Hope things are a bit better with work, and that you've been paid now! Yes, things do move fast here, but there are downsides, like I am expecting them all to push whatever is most expensive. I've heard the hospitals look a bit like 5* hotels. I have to say I am not bothered about gold gilt chairs, i just want gold treatment... We'll see.

SweetieDoesIt · 09/10/2012 07:01

Solars my trigger shot was also 11.30 pm so that meant my collection was 10.30am that next day but one. I took slippers and dressing gown with me, but not sure I really needed either. I think the procedure took about 15 minutes then about 30 minutes recovery before DH could come in, I was pretty out of it at that point though. Then I had to have a sandwich and drink before they would let me go. I think in all it was about 12.30 - 1 before I could leave. We had to get there for 7.30 am for it all to start even though our collection wasn't until 10.30, so a long morning. But I went home to bed and the whole day was a bit like a dream, even when I felt better. Please try not to worry it was really no where near I had thought it was going to be.

Solars · 09/10/2012 08:47

Keep yes potentially 3 eggs, it's not a lot I guess but at least it's something. I work for myself so I can do as little or as much work as i want. I have a bit of for work today which will help me stress less about tmrw and then will take the rest of the week off.

Thanks Sweetie it's strange how all the clinics do things differently, I've been told my egg collection is at 12.30pm and to come to the clinic half an before, the nurse also told me to bring a snack with me, perhaps we don't even get a sandwich! I may take slippers perhaps. We have even been told not to drive and cook(!!) for 48 hrs after! DH thought the cooking ban was funny as he thought I wouldn't last 12 hours away from the kitchen!

Scarlett I forgot to mention yesterday, I know what you mean about the bloated belly look, it's what I've been sporting these last few weeks too. A cousin of mine mentioned i looked like i had put on weight a few weeks ago and then looked at my belly, then me again and I think she half expected me to say yes it's cos I'm diffed! Plus my favourite Capri pants are a little tight for me around the waist now too! They were digging into me all day yesterday and it was a relief to get them off! Anymore symptoms to report from you?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 09/10/2012 09:10

Solars this is amazing news!! So so pleased your follies are looking lovely. The cooking ban is incase the anaesthetic is still in your system and you cause a fire I'm so very excited for you.

Keep you are right, it must be tough having to have IVF 'sold' to you, I would have no idea what to say yes and no to.

Sweetie Otis is allergic to gluten, it really upsets his tummy and makes him itch. He is nowhere near as bad now he is older, but we give him special food. If you are thinking off changing food, try CSJ. They are amazingly helpful, and they will send you free samples to try first.

Sparks sorry about the BFN. But yay to piriton.

Geek those cupcakes sound amazing!

keepitgoing · 09/10/2012 09:36

Solars three eggies is lots! Plenty, in fact. Would you have just one embryo put back if you get more than one fertilised, which of course we are all brooking for!! How nice that you can work as much as you want. Takes away the stress of having to tell or not tell other people at work, etc. And, as you say, it will probably be good to do some work today to stop the crazy thoughts from having a chance Smile

Solars · 09/10/2012 09:47

Maybe I think there's more chance of DH causing a fire in that 48 hrs then me if he's left in charge of the cooking :)

Keep we'll have to see what the clinic says if anything gets fertilised and what quality they are, DH wants 2 put back in but we'll see!
