Horizontal lines in Tesco's HPT?

Hello, I two days late so i couldn't wait any longer and decided to test. I used a Tesco's HPT and when the 3 mins was up there were two very faint lines in the test window, but they were horizontal instead of vertical?!? There was a vertical line in the control window to show it had worked? Just wondering of anyone had experienced this? I am hoping it might mean there is still some chance but am I just clutching at straws and is it just wishfull thinking that it might mean a positive?

What does the leaflet say? I think that would be classed as a non-result. Get thee to a supermarket and get a FRER which in my experience are a far superior test :)

Was it a blue dye or red dye test? Blue dyes are notoriously unreliable and often show the lines you mentioned, id get a red dye test like first response or as a cheaper alternative, superdrugs own brand. Smile

Hello, it was a red dye test. I've been having a google and apparently it can just be a result from the dye moving across the test strip. Sad

yes pink dyes are better!

lolalotta · 06/09/2012 16:57

The leaflet said it should have been a vertical line, it didn't mention horizontal lines at all!

Oh...I still think you won't settle til you've retested now.

SecretCermonials · 06/09/2012 17:00

Yep another vote for retesting, otherwise you will drive yourself mad!

First Response Early Response. They're very sensitive and when I finally got my BFP, I got a couple of fuzzy ones on Internet cheapies and when I did the FRER the BFP came up instantly and was nice and clear.
