ggggrrrrr. So frustrating for you lexi

That's really frustrating. It really annoys me when people in the same place say different things.

Did you query the inconsistency?

LexiLoganberry · 17/10/2012 14:22

MrsBri I didn't question the original delay from yesterday afternoon to this morning as I assumed it was just a mistake. The lady this morning was nice and just asked me to call after lunch but the lady this afternoon said the results weren't in, I said that I was told that they are in but awaiting looking over from the doctor and she got rather shirty with me and said I'd just have to call back tomorrow.

The result line doesn't close till 4:30 so why there isn't still time for the doctor to get them on screen I do not know. Think I shall ignore and call back later if I dare, don't want to get the same women again especially if it's negative would rather someone with a bit of empathy.

MrsBri · 17/10/2012 14:29

Doctors' receptionists can be appalling, can't they?

I'd ring up again later if I were you. Would you recognise her voice so you could hang up before talking?!

TakingTheStairs · 17/10/2012 15:07

Could you pop into the surgery? You might get more help if you're face to face?

OP posts:
JellyCurls · 17/10/2012 15:24

Hi lexi, hope you get answer soon. Keeping everything crossed for you. Can you call and ask for an telephone appointment with nurse or Dr or will evil & nasty receptionst not give you one?

wavesandsmiles · 17/10/2012 15:38

Lexi - really hoping you have luck soon with the results!

DH is now getting twitchy that AF has made no appearance (now 8 days late) and wants me to get a "proper" test as opposed to the internet cheapies that he reckons must be fake as he doesn't see how you can buy 25 for £4 when the proper ones are so much more pricey. I am horribly tempted to wait til Monday though. I would like to say to save money in case AF appears before then, but secretly it is because I want a glass of champagne up the Oxo Tower where I am being taken for lunch on Saturday. He's booked it as a birthday treat purely because of the thread about it on Mumsnet which resulted in me crying with laughter and spitting tea all over my keyboard at work.

LexiLoganberry · 17/10/2012 15:41

Not really to sure of the telephone appointment, they have a message line for the doctors which is who I called on monday and they started the ball rolling on having urine sample tested in the first place, tbh I think if I try the message line they'll just give me the results direct dial number as there wouldn't be another message for the doctor except for shouting CHECK MY FLIPPIN RESULTS WILL YOU.

If I don't get a result today think I may just have to poas in the morning, I'm so bloody inpatient sometimes.

LexiLoganberry · 17/10/2012 15:45

Sound nice waves lucky you, I'm still waiting for my birthday present from months ago, think DH has completely forgotten now it's so long ago. Not because he's an arse, just because we've had alot of financial commitments recently and birthday presents not really a priority.

littlepinkfizz · 17/10/2012 16:21

Impatient lexi ? You have endless patience if you ask me! I'd have ranted and raved at the receptionist probably resulting g in me getting struck off their list plus I'd have peed on a million sticks by now!

LexiLoganberry · 17/10/2012 16:36

Got the result, negative.

I don't know what to say.

Pissed of at DH he came home and I was having a little cry, asks what's wrong so i explain and he says "we'll try again next month, I thought it was something serious when I saw you crying"

If I'd had my period as normal it would of been ok but it now seems such a let down. Spoke to a lovely nurse who has left message for doctor about whether I should see him in regards to lateness of period with negative result.

teaandcakesolveseverything · 17/10/2012 16:53

Don't think I've spoken to you before Lexi, but I'm sorry for the BFN. Its really shitty especially when AF seems to have gone so astray, I'm sure our bodies like to try to trick us and play games with our minds when it matters the most. And men really really don't understand.

blargl · 17/10/2012 17:21

sorry you had such a crappy experience at the doctors lexi :(

I empathise completely - husbands just do not understand and there is nothing worse than "oh there's always the next time" if you have started to maybe hope this is the right time.

LexiLoganberry · 17/10/2012 18:11

Thanks teaandcake and blargl

Wish AF would just show up now, fed up and rather confused, two faint positives on FR, and two negatives.

littlepinkfizz · 17/10/2012 19:17

Poor ,poor you lexix I'm sure Dh didn't mean that the way it came out. Men can be incredibly insensitive which is soul destroying and just makes things so much worse.

You have good company here if you want to rant or cry. Do see your gp about AF being AWOL. X

Autumn11 · 17/10/2012 19:26

Sorry about your BFN Lexi, hopefully your AF will show very soon.

I completely understand how you feel at the moment. I've had regular periods since birth of Ds 3 years ago, every 29-30 days. Decide to start trying for baby this month, and now on day 35 and no period but I'm not pregant as took several tests and have no symptoms what so ever. I just want it to start, so I know I'll have another chance in a few weeks.

This may sound stupid but does anyone know if I miss this AF, can I ovulate next month or do I have to have AF in order to the new cycle to start? I'm now in a panic that ovulation did not happen this month so bought OPK but don't think I can start using it until after AF?

JellyCurls · 17/10/2012 19:49

lexi i am so sorry you got neg result. Hopefully AF will arrive properly soon so you can get back on track.

Please forgive your dh he wont have meant to be insensitive. I had a cp at 5wks in Aug and dh couldn't understand why i was upset as, in his words, i was barely pregnant Angry? thank goodness for girlfriends and mn!

LexiLoganberry · 17/10/2012 20:07

pinkfizz I know DH is upset too, he's been talking about his super sperm, cause we got pregnant first of trying with DD and was very impressed with himself for seeming to have filled the objective on our second month of trying.

I have to admit I didn't think I'd break into tears. I'd spoken to the nurse and was fine, it was when I came to write on here that I suddenly started crying.
I think it was because I had convinced myself I was pregnant, kind of felt a little like a formality getting the doctors test back, I had dipped hpt in the same urine sample that the doctors used and got a very faint line (FR one step test)

Been wondering same as you Autumn in regards to AF and ovulation.
DH asked if this spotting is it for this month or if we need to wait for a real AF, this is nothing like my usual AF so I guessing I just have to wait.

In regard to expecting AF, I ovulated on the 25th Sept (cycle day 15) and thought that periods usually came around 14 days later, so if you had a longer cycle lets say 34 days for ease that you would ovulate around day 20. Have I got that completely arse about face.

LexiLoganberry · 17/10/2012 20:11

jellycurls Sorry I must of started typing before you posted your reply and it's taken me forever as I'm distracted watching some rubbish on tv.

Does it sound like it was a CM then? I had wondered when I got my first + followed by - but then didmissed it as AF hadn't arrived.

MrsBri · 17/10/2012 20:12

Not arse about face, but as your luteal phase can be between 10-16 days, if you had a 34 day cycle you would ovulate anywhere from day 18 to 24.

Do you use OPKs, Lexi? It may be worth getting cheapie ones and POAS every day until you get a positive. You could then use something more expensive to confirm its result.

Really have my fx for you. xx

LexiLoganberry · 17/10/2012 20:18

MrsBri

Yes I do use OPK's and I do exactly what you suggested.

Good luck to everyone still in for this month fx for you all.

LexiLoganberry · 17/10/2012 20:27

I wonder then if I got my LH surge on my OPK (cb smiley face) and then didn't ovulate, I have read somewhere on MN that you can have more than 1 surge a month, if my luteal phase was longer I'm still overdue for AF and it still won't explain the spotting.

I'm one of those people who needs to know and understand why and how things happen, so I'm finding it hard to fit this all together and have it make sense, I guess it's not going to make sense, just one of those things.

Laptopgirl · 17/10/2012 20:30

Sorry to read your news lexi fx for the next bus for you! (((Hugs)))) xxxx I have a long cycle, which can make it very frustraiting!

Congratulations mrsBri xxxx

MrsBri · 17/10/2012 20:35

You can have more than one surge, yes...wonder if it is worth continuing to test even after you get a surge to see if another follows?

I'm exactly like you. Need to know the ins and outs of everything (pun intended!).

And thank you, Laptopgirl :-) xx

Autumn11 · 17/10/2012 20:40

Lexi I assumed I ovulated 14 days before my period was due about 30 days so day 16-17. On my first I also fell pregnant first month of trying just by tracking my cycle days. My DH said it's too soon to be worrying about not getting pregnant as this was first cycle but I can't help it. If I knew my correct ovulation dates I wouldn't be so worried. I bought the cheapies off the internet so i'm going to test everyday whether AF comes or not. x
