thought i ought to update

no sign of AF but 3 negative pg tests so far (got a postive 5 days early last time) so no idea whats happening to me

kNickerbockerGloryCherry · 12/10/2012 07:34

Can you get a pink dye test, Lexi? I don't rate the blue ones at all. And the Clear Blue ones aren't very good, I don't think!

LexiLoganberry · 12/10/2012 07:34

nannyl thats kind of how I am, in my previous pregnancy I tested the dat my period was due and got an instant positive I'm also never late, currently 3 days late which I know isn't much but when you are very regular it feels like a long time.

LexiLoganberry · 12/10/2012 07:37

knickerbocker I was going to but they didn't have any FRER yesterday, not sure my DH would be best pleased if I go and buy more, spent £20 this month on tests and still have CB left. Will probably have to just for my own sanity.

wavesandsmiles · 12/10/2012 11:23

Hi all, just updating as at work and no time to read everything, and no internet yet in our new house - but I noticed some more BFPs! Very exciting. Still no AF for me, and was kind of expecting it on 9 October. I have some cheap internet tests, but they have come up negative. If nothing happens over the weekend, I might well invest in one of the more expensive tests and see what happens......

kNickerbockerGloryCherry · 12/10/2012 11:28

Someone said Superdrug has an offer on tests at the moment, Lexi, can you get to one?

LexiLoganberry · 12/10/2012 12:43

I've got a FR but it's a standard one not a FRER one, the test I got a faint line on was a FRER and from what I understand they're more sensitive so might wait a couple of days before I test again.

It's frustrating because yesterday evening I started to feel like it might be true and found myself believing we were going to have a baby and then this morning being inconclusive I'm back to not wanting to get my hopes up, trying to be positive after all AF hasn't arrived which has to be a good sign.

LexiLoganberry · 12/10/2012 12:58

I've phoned the FR helpline to check the sensitivity of there tests and she said that the FRER is 12.5mlU/ml and the FR one step is 25mlU/ml which is the same as my CB+

Which would explain why yesterdays looked more positive than todays.

kNickerbockerGloryCherry · 12/10/2012 13:05

Ah, well fx for the next test, Lexi. The CB Plus didn't impress me at all. Now I know why!

blargl · 12/10/2012 15:47

congrats kNickerbocker - that's exciting news!

lexi I know what you mean about wasting money, I spent so much last month on tests I am determined to ration myself this month!

I have been doing the CB digi OPKS and got a smiley this morning which I am v happy about (I guess I had a niggling worry I didn't o last cycle). Now for the question: when's best to dtd? Tonight or tomorrow? Or does it matter??!

LexiLoganberry · 12/10/2012 16:26

blargl I must admit I did go and buy some more as was a bit peeved at the CB, brought the FR one step instead of the FRER, but now that I've found out the difference in the sensitivity I do kind of wish I'd kept looking for the early result one as a positive result probably won't show up for a few more days on the less sensitive tests. Now spent £26 this month on tests.

I used the CB OPK to and we dtd that evening and the next day, as long as you have sperm waiting for the egg I wouldn't imagine it matters to much but I'm only on cycle 2 so not hugely knowledgeable on these things.

Good luck

blargl · 12/10/2012 18:27

thanks lexi yes I'm only on cycle 2 too so I don't feel very knowledgeable! that's what I was planning....just hope dh agrees! good luck to you too...hope your line goes strong positive soon....

kNickerbockerGloryCherry · 13/10/2012 02:21

We DTD CDs 1, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14 and 16 with a smilie on CD15 and got up duffed if that helps?!

blargl · 13/10/2012 09:28

thanks nic, wow you were busy!

so far I've persuaded dh to do it 11, 13, 16, 18, 20 with smiley on CD20 (35 day cycle)... fx for tonight! this is taking over my life, it's like being 19!!

MrsBri · 14/10/2012 09:11

No problem...we were busy, but it had the desired effect!

It's also better to have sex before ovulation, not the day of, too.

PerditaMcLeod · 14/10/2012 09:27

Morning all. Got my dates so wrong this month! Thought AF was due 7 October, but put in a surprise appearance on 26 Sept 2 hours into a 12 flight to Tokyo..... Not happy!

What that does mean is I might not be off the bus for this month yet...

So this is cycle 2 and I will be testing on 26 Oct :-)

Congratulations to the BFP ladies!

blargl · 14/10/2012 19:09

yes mrsBri I'm just a bit worried we didn't manage it the day before the smiley but we did two days before so hopefully there will have been a sperm to meet the egg whenever it was released....

MrsBri · 14/10/2012 19:16

That should be ok timing, so don't worry too much :-)

Autumn11 · 14/10/2012 19:48

Hi ladies, congratulations to all with BFP's and sorry to all those without.

I thought AF was due on 12th but so far hasn't showed. Poas on the 12th but BFN. Not getting my hopes up though cos don't feel one little bit pregnant. With DS I felt sick and had sore boobs within a few weeks of getting pregnant. Pretty sure I'll be hopping on November's bus by tomorrow!

blargl · 14/10/2012 20:16

thanks mrsBri, fx!

Laptopgirl · 14/10/2012 20:36

Ooo I have just come back to using MN! Seen this thread, can I hop on board?? I'm hoping for a BFP but could be wishful thinking as this our first month TTC after having our first LO last year.

Im half way thru my 2WW! eeeeeeeek!

LexiLoganberry · 15/10/2012 08:11

Welcome to the bus Laptopgirl I can't add you to the list because I'm useless and have no idea how to do it but someone will help you out.

I'm feeling really fed up, I got a very faint positive last thursday wanted to test again thinking that the line would get stronger in the following days, friday and saturdays test I read as negative, you could see something if you stood by the window with bright natural light but to be honest they weren't very promising, I think they were probably evaporation lines. I'm now 20 DPO and was thinking it must be good news because AF hadn't arrived. I'm usually a reliable 28 day cycle.

When I got up this morning after going for a wee, tmi I wiped and had pink CM

I did wonder with the faint line and then neg HPT's (althought the fri and sat tests are less sensitive than the thur one) if it could be CP but isn't that when you test early and then get your period as usual, my faint positive was 2 days after AF was due.

Feeling very confused and pretty pissed off, I want to be pregnant so much.

Do you think it sounds like AF imminent. Had some cramps yesterday evening.

Grannyapple · 15/10/2012 08:47

Hi lexi it could be that's AF is on its way...but equally could be one of those weird things or possibly implantation? My friend had what she thought was AF but it didn't come to much after 1 day so she did a test a couple of days later...& hers was BFP..she's now 14 wks pg!

But equally I had the exact same as you last month...was convinced it was a faint positive but then read about blue dye tests etc & how they are notorious for evap lines etc. anyway I ended up stocking up in super drug tests & decided to wait a few days...in the meantime AF arrived very slowly...took 2 days if CM type spotting( sorry if TMI, this early).. Then full whack came on.

Maybe give it a day or 2 to see what happens, otherwise you'll drive yourself insane (I know I did & I know it's easier said than done too),

LexiLoganberry · 15/10/2012 09:11

Thanks for your reply granny DH said not to test every day as each morning I was disappointed, last tested sat with FR was waiting till tomorrow to test again hoping for a stronger line

Thursdays test was a FRER - faint positive
Fridays test was a CB plus - can see something is natural light, I read as a neg
Saturdays test was a FR one step - can see some thing in natural light I read as neg.

Still have one FR one step and one CB plus but like you said plan to stay away from blue dye tests from now on and always use the same tests from the same range, don't think it's helping my confusion that each test is different with different sensitivity, didn't know this when I brought the tests, only after when I phoned the FR helpline.

littlepinkfizz · 15/10/2012 10:29

I was like that last week lexi .had convinced myself that spotting was implantation bleeding. Got v v faint line on cb then nothi g on frer . Then AF came with vegenance. It's just a waiting game for you lexi but fx x
