Hi, thought I'd start the new thread. This is a brilliant thread for anyone trying to conceive or who has got a bfp after mc, full of lovely ladies, fab advice and a lovely place to metal, so called because someone said metal instead of mental and the rest is history......

I wasn't in maternity clothes until about 17/18 weeks first time round. This time, I was so bloated that it was about 10 weeks. I'm 18+4 today and feel absolutely huge. I looked at some pics of me at the same stage with DS and I'm much bigger this time Hmm

Moominsarescary · 08/10/2012 13:14

I'm 21+5 now and still not in mat clothes, was 16 weeks last time.

pebs hope they find the hb easily for you

So I finally told my mum nag go I'm pg, I thought my nana was going to have a heart attack, she went grey!

Still feel unable to buy anything but we did go looking at double pushchairs at the w/e I don't know if anyone else has one near them but a kiddycare (sp) has just opened next door to mothercare here and the prices arnt bad at all, they also have 10% off untill end of November.

I don't want to buy anything until 24 weeks but with ds3 being born at 32 it's not going to leave me long to get what we need just incase

Moominsarescary · 08/10/2012 13:16

Mum and gp!

pebspop · 08/10/2012 16:05

midwife isn't coming now. she didn't realise i was only 14 weeks so she thinks it's too early to listen in - so do i tbh. i will stick to my original plan of going for a scan on friday and will ask if they can listen in at the same time as the scan so i can see if the heartbeat can be heard.

on a roller coaster today!

StateofConfusion · 08/10/2012 16:40

Hope your ok pebs

I go to kiddicare in peterborough, if they're connected moomins I've no idea if they are, anyway great prices and customer services, always go there for large purchases.

Moominsarescary · 08/10/2012 16:53

Possibly, I think they're part of morrisons. They were very helpful with prams and car seats and didn't try and push the expensive ones like some places do

StateofConfusion · 08/10/2012 17:29

Sounds like the same company, can't recomend them enough really, we got the big twos carseats there and dds had clipsafe which is a click that sounds when the straps are tightened enough and it wasn't working we got given a loan seat, then a brand new one. Oh and they price match anyone.

scaredmummy2B · 08/10/2012 19:40

Well thats that pg over then judging by the extreme cramps and heavy bleeding I've had all day! That's 3 mc in 10 months time to give up and be thank ful for wat we already got coz I can't do this anymore girls your all a lot braver than me!!!

wilderumpus · 08/10/2012 19:45

oh scared. I am so sorry :( Are you going to go to the drs? I hope you look after yourself ok xx

scaredmummy2B · 08/10/2012 19:50

If the pain or bleeding get to bad I'll ring ward 4 they know me by name thats where doc would send me they will scan me up there now I'm bleeding they know I have a epu phobia! Dh2b has pulled the plug said no point asking for an investigation coz he's off for the snip he's hurting obviously

lotsofcheese · 08/10/2012 20:03

Oh scaredmummy I'm so sorry. Have been thinking of you over the last few days & was hoping it would work out ok.

Miscarriages are just shite, there's no other word for it. It's so unfair you have had to go through this so many times, I really feel for you.

At the moment, please don't be pressurised into any decision re: stopping ttc. You're in no fit state for making decisions & need time to grieve & recover - both physically & mentally. If your DH takes that decision out your hands you could feel very angry in the future. He is suffering too & won't be in the right frame of mind for making a rationale decision either.

I've had m/c too & always felt like calling it quits straight after I found out, as I couldn't face the thought of ttc again at the time. Then felt differently in the future.

On the other hand, there is only so much you can go through, and if you decide to call it quits, stopping ttc can be a huge relief.

The most important thing now is to take very good care of yourself now, go very easy on yourself & DH & concentrate on recovering

lurcherlover · 08/10/2012 20:07

Oh scared, I'm so sorry to hear that. Might be worth getting checked out anyway just to make sure you've not got any retained tissue? You poor thing, it is so horrible to have been through so much in such a short space of time.

pebs apparently they don't routinely listen for the heartbeat at your 16 week appointment now, as it's not guaranteed they'll find it even when everything is absolutely fine. So I think you're doing the right thing in not trying to find it tonight.

Dating/nuchal scan for me in the morning ladies - first time I've been for a scan at the ante-natal unit since the mmc. I'm dreading being in the waiting room and then the same scanning room as I was when we got the news last time. My scan at 11+4 was fine, so really hope bean is still hanging in there - should be 13+2 tomorrow. Metal metal metal...

backwardpossom · 08/10/2012 20:08

scared I'm so sorry xxx

lotsofcheese · 08/10/2012 20:36

lurcher it's scan metalling for us tonight!!!

I've got my 1st scan tomorrow, I should be. 8 weeks...

I, too hate the scan room - I've had 2 lots of bad news in that room Sad

Aaargh!

lurcherlover · 08/10/2012 20:45

I'm virtually holding your hand cheese ! Just wish we could have a big glass of wine as well!!

wilderumpus · 08/10/2012 20:54

oh lurcher and cheese! good luck tomorrow! I have chosen a different hospital this time simply so I never have to see That Waiting Room or scan room! Am sure it will be just fine and look forward to hearing your newses :)

am sad they don't try to listen in any more at 16 weeks. I just bloody loved hearing that HB!

scaredmummy2B · 08/10/2012 21:00

Thanks everyone for your kind words all taken on board going to bed now will check in soon need some space to get my head right

Jollyb · 08/10/2012 21:02

Oh scared so so sorry to hear your news. Don't make any rash decisions. Let yourself grieve.

Good luck for the metallers having scans tomorrow.

Ps - have been wondering how confusedmum is doing- and whether moved to the states yet

backwardpossom · 08/10/2012 21:07

If you have a midwife like mine, she'll try to find the HB for you. At my appointment last week, she said "officially I'm not supposed to do this anymore, but we'll give it a go, will we?" So yeah, it was lovely to hear it! x

StateofConfusion · 08/10/2012 21:51

So sorry to hear that scared I agree with the others don't make any decissions now. Take care xxx

Good luck to lurcher and cheese :)

MrsHerculePoirot · 08/10/2012 21:59

So sorry scared, get some rest tonight.

Dorita75 · 08/10/2012 22:01

So sorry scared I really hope you and dh2b have lots of support in real life to help you through this and agree with others, don't make decisions too quickly.

Yes jollyb had an 'active' weekend Wink though we're trying to be more relaxed and not plan things too much, just pretend we're not dtd to order go with flow a bit!

Lurcher and cheese good luck with your scans!!

JaffaSnaffle · 08/10/2012 22:17

scared, I'm thinking of you tonight. I'm so sorry for you and your DH. Just try to stay calm, and give both of you time to recover before you make any big decisions. In time, you will know whether you want to pursue investigations. Just huge hugs for tonight. X

Good luck for scans lurcher and cheese.

pebspop · 09/10/2012 09:16

scared so sorry to hear your news. Take your time before making any big decisions. i had a six month break and it did me the world of good.

lurcherlover · 09/10/2012 12:10

Just a quickie from me to say scan was fine Smile and bean was very active. Of course, I will be metalling for the next week until the nuchal results come back, but I'm glad today's over with at least. cheese, hope you're ok x
