Late but negative test...

Was due af by 24 aug latest -allowing for stress, just being late etc, but still no af so did test today and negative. Allowing for -am embarrassed here-for not being entirely sure what date af started July, but def before end July am late. Am I testing too soon?

Lavender - it depends how regular your cycles are and how long they usually are. All sorts of things can make them longer, unfortunately. If your period still doesnt show, all you can really do is wait a couple of days and test again. Good luck

It's possible you just ovulated later than usual in your cycle. Ths is not uncommon. Are you usually very regular?

Yes normally regular- am going to test again at the end of the week if no af..

Hope you get a BFP (if that's what you are also hoping for!) - different tests have different levels of sensitivity, and they do advise you to wait 48 hours between tests to allow more hcg to build up. And if you did OV late then even though your period might be late, you might actually only be 7 days post ovulation or something, so you'll only get a BFP in a few days from now. good luck again :)

Oh Lavenderhoney, you and I are in the same boat so I know how frustrating this is. I am seven days late and testing negative. As you can imagine I have done lots of googling and there is no conclusive answer - some people don't have enough hcg in their urine and can test negative for weeks and weeks before getting a BFP and others start their period late for no reason at all. I wish you luck!

Well, I did it again today and still negative.. How long should I wait? I can't stop eating and am always on the loo- though that could be nerves:) runwithhesquirrels, what about you?

My AF was also late this month...but it finally showed up y'day. If there's no reason at all you can think of why you might be late, then you could always visit GP and ask for a hcg blood test and if that shows up negative and still no AF they could maybe try and get to the bottom of why your cycles have suddenly gone haywire.

Me too...I have a short cycle of 21/22 days and now on day 25. I've just done my 4th negative test . We are TTC and I'm on pins at the moment. Was just waiting for Tesco van to show up with my new batch of tests (and other shopping but that's just sitting on the floor waiting for attention); I haven't pee'd ALL MORNING trying to get any little preg hormones floating around onto the stick. NOthing! THing is, I had a ruptured ectopic 2 years ago. Would another ectopic show up on a preg test so early? Good luck everyone ttc.

I'm the same as before, testing neg and no AF! I even went and bought a FR test, but still no! I'm going to give until the end of the week which should allow for any reasonable late show of AF and then call the GP. I did read a harmless ovarian cyst can cause no AF so I guess that will be one to check out. Nine days now, I've never been later than three and that was Ofsted induced stress!

Still no af for me. Doc says could be stress - am nt particularly worried about anything though-Still always in loo and feeling a bit sick if hungry. Also felt suddenly v dizzy last night - and he knew someone who was a month late. Also said if tests negative not pregnant so that's that I guess. He said if no af after two weeks to come in again.

My AF was due today, tested but BFN!
Can only think my minds playing tricks with all the baby talk myself and my partner have been having recently.

Well looks like AF is starting for me. From a 26 day cycle to a 36 this month has been rather odd. I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens next month. Good luck to all of you! X

Still no af, dreadful headaches yesterday am now getting worried its something sinister. Have never ever been later than a couple f days before. Squirrels I hope next time s better .
