I had a Chemical Pregnancy/early MC in June so am now freaking out as yet again this "pregnancy" does not look straightforward. My LP is usually 11 days so am now over a week late. I chart my BBT so I know exactly when I OV'd. I tested at 13dpo and 15dpo but BFN so I called my GP and handed in a FMU sample - she tested it at 18dpo (yesterday) and called me and said that I am definitely PG as she used an "accurate" test. However she did mention that she had to ask someone else to double check so it can't have been the most obvious line.... So this morning I tested using a CB and I got a very very faint line (just like in June). I also did a CBD and it said "pregnant 1-2 weeks". I would have expected it to say 2-3 weeks by now so am not hopeful at the moment. I am definitely "feeling PG" as am very tired, have achy b00bs on and off and waves of nausea. I know what being PG feels like as have a DS and I lost a baby at 20 weeks PG last year.
I am so desperate for this to work out but just have a nagging doubt that if all was well I would have had a strong line by now....
Anyone have any similar stories to share, even if not positive I'd like to hear them - I am trying to be honest with myself as I don't want to get my hopes up yet again only for more disappointment but by the same token I would love to know that it could work out positively.

Hello gomurray. I've had a chemical PG in June too, and a 20 MC in January, so I sympathise, i'm so sorry for your losses x

My chemical one- at first i got a postive on an internet cheapie, then the next morning used a branded test (can't remember which one) and got good line. Because i'm now paranoid, due to the previous MC, i tested again the next day and got a negative on another internet cheapie, and a much fainter line on the second branded test, so I knew i was going backwards.

I did post a thread about it and got a few people responding saying that sometimes it does just take a while to implannt and get moving, and they had positive outcomes after slow starts. I also got a few people who had similar situations who went on to have an MC.

Unfortuantely, the advice I was given at that stage was that it was a waiting game.

I was advised to take a digital with first morning urine as a baseline and then test again with the same brand a few days later to see if it had risen/stayed the same/. I know that is not much help when you are desperate for answers and the days are long. Good luck x

Also meant to put, another poster wrote to me 'whatever the outcome, MN will be here to support you' which i found very comforting. And it was true.

Thank you so much Captain. I know that I just have to wait but it is so hard to wait not knowing. DP and I have agreed to stop TTC at the end of the year as it is taking its toll and neither of us want a massive age gap - we agree that we would rather move on with our lives than keep putting ourselves through this. However, this means that my opportunities are not very limited so I am desperate for this to work out.
What a coincidence that we have been through similar at almost the same time - how are you now ? How is TTC going ?
My hormones took ages to 'normalize' with the help of acupuncture but seem to be back to 'normal' - just wish I could have a straightforward cycle where I get a BFP and it is a strong line so that I can believe it.

Hi, yes I know the waiting is awful, awful, awful..... someone on another thread told me it was like dog years....so every day of waiting actually felt like 7 days.

I'm actually PG again, I MC at beginning of June and got a BFP at the end of July. I'm 9 +6 today and am very frightened almost all the time- i think emotionally things have taken their toll, to be honest, but I'm grateful to be PG today and just hope it works out this time.

I have my FX you are going to get the news you want on your next test in a couple of days- I'm wondering if maybe your cycle is still slightly awry still and you did ovulate later than you thought? (don't know much about charting, though, just a thought!)

gomurray · 01/09/2012 22:41

Oh that is lovely news Captain so good to hear that it can work out successfully after everything we have been through. I understand how you feel though. When I was PG for a week in June I was so apprehensive about scans and more bad news - it is so difficult but somehow people get through it so I'm sure you will and I will too when/if the time comes.

I definitely ov'd when I think as all the signs were there CM, temps etc... plus I was away from DP just after ov so we didn't BD for 2 weeks afterwards so it would been impossible for me to be PG now Wink

I am having hcG levels checked next week so that will tell me one way or another - I just want answers now. Even if it is not the news I want, I just want to move onto the next cycle and get on with it - patience is not one of my virtues !

Hello :) I had a very faint BFP at 18dpo and beyond. When I went to the dr at the recurrent miscarriage clinic he told me I wasn't pg! I had HCG taken regularly and it didn't double, only Rose slightly. I was certain it was going to end in my 4th MC, however things progressed slowly and I currently have a very sleepy DS on my knee.

I know the waiting game is dreadful but that's all you can do :( Oh and a cb digi never went beyond 1-2 weeks with me even when I was 6 weeks pg. Some babies are just slow HCG burners :) A faint line means you are PG, it is not an indication of how OG in my experience!!

Good luck to you, fingers crossed and keep us posted!! Xx

battery thank you so much for sharing your story. What a fabulous outcome for you after I'm sure you given up hope. I'm crossing fingers that my story ends up being similar Smile.

Captain and battery just to update you - I got hCG results and at 5 weeks Pg they are very low - just 142. I saw GP today for 2nd set of bloods and she agreed with my fears about ectopic. She is going to contact the Consultant who dealt with my MC in Dec and see what he wants to do about the situation. She is not in tomorrow so no progress likely to be made until Friday although I should get my blood results tomorrow to confirm what is going on. I'm so worried and so gutted now Sad. Supposed to be going on holiday next Thu - going to ensure insurance is sorted Sad

Oh :( However, not wanting to give you false hope, my HCG at 5 weeks was 158. I was worried to death about ectopic, but all turned out ok. I will still keep my fingers crossed for you. Do keep us updated xx
