Fertility after the mirena coil

DD2 is 7 weeks old and I am considering a coil. I am breast feeding and periods haven't started as yet, and didn't with DD1 til past weaning. I know that fertility is supposed to resume as before quickly after the coil is removed, but has anyone found that not to be the case (I know no-one can say for sure).

Hi Missing I had 2 Mirena coils which spanned 10 years. I had my last one out on 12th June and got pregnant that month (had MC since) so it does happen! I think it is better than having the pill as it is a lot less hormones. Hope that helps!

Another positive story here - I am 14 wks pg, conceived in 3rd cycle of trying after my mirena was removed. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Thank you for that.
I think I will go for it. It's just the Pill messed everything up anyway, I struggle to carry pregnancies when I do get pregnant, although conception was becoming more and more elusive before DD2. We would like a third if possible, but I'm sure I'd die if we did nothing about it and I fell pregnant again so quicklyGrin
