Evening Primrose Oil query....

I've read that EPO helps regulate your cycle because of its hormone balancing effects so decided to start taking it post implant removal to help things along but have read on the bottle to consult a doctor before taking if trying to conceive. Just wondering if anyone knows why and should I stop taking them?

hi andie I am not sure if EPO helps to regulate cycles.

I took 2000mg of EPO a day to increase/improve the quality of CM during fertile period. I had instant effects from EPO and lots of watery CM which makes it easier for sperm to swim up.

Although you need to be aware that you can only take EPO up to Ovulation. If you are not sure when OV is stop half way through your cycle. The reason is because EPO can cause contractions in the utereus so if you get lucky this month and get pregnant its not safe to carry on taking EPO past OV.

I conceived in that cycle but it ended up as chemical pregnancy.

Do not take Evening Primrose Oil while trying to conceive.
I took it for a long time, exactly to regulate hormones as I used to have breast pain, didn't know and also took them while TTC.

Then I got pregnant and I was at that point on High strength EPO.
I did notice I couldn't watch programmes like "one born every minute" without having contractions, but I thought it was all "in my head".
I kept taking it because I thought it was healthy to keep my hormones balanced in pregnancy.

I had a MC, my womb had a few strong contractions, and literally put my pregnancy out. Really traumatising.

Do not take it while TTC. If you want to balance hormones, take it for a month or 2 and then TTC.
