Something weird. advice please!

Hi all,

I have been TTC for 5 months. Got my period on Sunday at 11 DPO, normal for me. Since then, my temps have stayed up (there was one dip on mon but still above coverline). I thought my thermometer was playing up but as it happened again this morning, I thought I'd POAS with an Internet cheapy. Positive. Tried a morrisons own brand too, just in case (don't quite trust the Internet cheapies). Positive too, but quite feint.

Period was a bit strange, quite a bit of brown blood and a little less the normal, but lasted 4 days and there was still a lot of blood, I usually get very heavy periods. So I'm pretty sure that wasn't implantation bleeding.

What do you think I should do now? I'm thinking it's unlikely that I am pregnant - probably its a chemical pregnancy and the HCG is still in my bloodstream. But wouldn't my temp be down in that case?

I think I need to wait a few days and do another test. Do you agree? Or should I go to the doctors? I don't think they could do much and would prob just tell me to retest in a few days, right?

What a pickle!! I would have thought that the HCG would have gone by now, as it was early on. Im no expert tho. It depends how impatient you are, you could either wait a couple of days and re-test. I would nip off to the Drs to get a blood test, they'l be able to tell you if your HGC levels are OK or dropping, but that just me - impatient. Good luck. I hope its a sticky bean.

Thanks for replying! I'm impatient too, but thinking the worse. Pinky blood today, but not much. Think I'll test again on Sat. Have no idea what my temp is doing!

You can just be a bleeder. I bleed during pregnancy usually til about 12 weeks, on and off. Its very stressful. Have a test on Saturday, if its positive book yourself in to Drs Monday. Good luck, I hope all is well for you.

I would do another test at home in a couple days

Ironically, HCG shows up first in the blood and then in the urine. But when it LEAVES, it moves out of the blood FIRST and then second in the urine.

That means you will get a more reliable result of it's a chemical pregnancy on a home test because you can detect HCG but the doctors wouldnt' pick up anything.

Obviously, if you are pregnant, the HCG will still be in your blood stream. And in your urine.

It will take a few days - up to 2 weeks, for HCG to move out of your system in a CP
