TTC#2 but no periods since stopping BFing

I stopped BFing my DS 3 months ago (at 12 months) and am desperate to fall pregnant again - as I have decided not to return to work, and want a big family - so heck, why wait! The problem is that my periods have not returned, and although I am well aware that you can fall pregnant without periods, I am pretty sure that I am not ovulating and there are none of the usual symptoms of things returning to normal. I am starting to get slightly concerned as DS has slept through for the last 8 months (lucky me!) and most of my friends cycles returend to normal shortly after this milestone - is anyone else out there in this position? or have experience of periods returning 3+ months after stopping BFing? or have any good advice for kick-starting the old ovaries Wink I am 32 btw.

Hi, I would strongly suggest you make an appointment to see your GP. The longer you leave it the more frustrating you will find yourself with no real answers. I don't have children but my periods have not come back since coming off the pill 5 months ago. They're currently testing me for 'secondary amenorrhea' which involves a blood test and internal scans to check my ovaries. I would ask for a blood test if I was you, just to check your hormone levels and find out if you're actually ovulating. Hope I've helped!
