Time to move over ladies. Would love to start this thread by announcing my BFP but unfortunately I can't because we all talk too much to get to test date!

I was aware of mine during ovulation, but I don't tend to be at AF time. My left one actually really hurts now.

I think you can have a period without ovulating, as the lining preps for pregnancy and comes away if no fertilised egg implants.

I feel really dizzy and a bit sick today. Grrrr!

Yes I think you can still have a period and not ovulate, according to my doctor that is what has been happening to me .

Still no AF but got a back ache and feel a little sick, I think she is on her way. I jut booked a consultation with a private fertilty clinic,£120. As I have had the majority or the tests in hoping they will just give me some medication, I have had the scan and then progestrone test do not sure what more they can actually do ?

Technically you can have a period and not ovulate, but it is not a true period. A true period is caused by a fall in progesterone but if you don't ovulate there is no progesterone to fall. Instead the lining will degrade and fall away of its own accord.

You cannot ovulate and not have a period (unless you are pregnant!). When you ov the corpus luteum left behind in your ovary secretes progesterone. If the HCG from a pregnancy does not take over, the CL dies and progesterone levels fall, triggering your period.

Roxy brilliant news! Would the last test be to see if your tubes are working and not blocked with that die X-ray? I would say you have enough evidence to get medicine before doing anymore tests but then I'm not a doctor so don't know really :-/ Some doctors probably like to to take their own blood and urine samples to start the consultation from fresh but I still think you've got a good case. Is the appointment soon?

Hey newbie yes that probably is am the lat test but if I'm having AF (well I'm not at the minute ) then surely the tubes are working. I really do think I just need something to kick start my ovulation, I have said for years I have a hormone imbalance, and I always new deep down that I couldn't have children (well ovulate) its booked for 3rd September so not long.

AF HAS LANDED!!!!!!!!! never thought I'd be happy about that! Come on ladies, tell yours it's time to join me! Don't know how much the accupuncture and herbs had to do with it, but it's an awfully big coincidence if they're not connected. Roxy it's the baby making bible, and yes, she gave me the herbal pills after the treatment. Worthwhile experience if you ask me. Xx

My af is definitely not missing but I wish she would bugger off as its really bad pain this month. I've taken more ibruprofen and paracetamol in a day than I usually take in a month

So just did another test after work. Big Fat Negative... again. I now totally accept I'm in limbo land. Think I just needed that one extra test to push me into limbo reality :)

Wow still no period guys. I got bad back ache and belly cramps,and I'm boiling hot, so think AF is coming.

Just came back from swimming, I don't exercise at all so after yesterday's results I need to relax and start exercising. It was lovely :)

Can't believe how many AFs are missing!!

The sickness has only come on this evening...triggered by a smelly man on the train / travelling backwards. Can't shake it now and feel rough!
