It seems to have happened.
After 20 months of trying, I got my BFP today.

I was so sure the test was wrong I went to the chemist and bought two more packs. Two different brands, just in case.

I cannot believe that finally, it has happened.

We got dd in the first month of trying and this last year has been so frustrating and emotional. I don't know what to do with myself!

If anyone from the secondary infertility thread reads this, I was also on that not 3 weeks ago posting of our misery with this whole mess. Miracles can happen though.

Life is good today!

I took 27 months although we didn't really ' try' for six months in the middle as i got fed up with temping, chatting, poas'ing and using cbfm every month (believe me I did all of them at the same time!) we dtd twice when the high was showing on cbfm in April and that was it for the whole month - it didn't even get the egg symbol that month and I got a bfp - I could not believe it!

I don't know how it happened or why but I honestly had given up ( I'm 40) now I'm 22 weeks with ds2 and can second the sentiment ' don't give up'

NervousAt20 · 19/08/2012 16:48

Congratulations Grin wishing you all the best for the future

Lovely story rosie

I've been using Cbfm for most of the last yr but thinking of giving up on it now. I always get the egg between day 15-19 along with ewcm so maybe I don't need all that Peeing in cups!!

rosieposey · 19/08/2012 17:10

Yep ilove, if you know more or less when you are going to get a high ( for me it was usually on day 15/16 then start poas'ing on day 12/13. I think the reason I didn't get an egg symbol in the month I conceived is because my wee wasn't strong enough and you can't test again that day - I was pretty sure though due to ewcm so went out and bought some cb digi ov tests and sure enough a couple of hours later got a smiley face.

I also swear by using ov sticks or the monitor in the mid to late afternoon as have only ever got the egg symbol in the morning once which is why I switched to afternoons because i don't think my surge lasts 24 hours so definately not till the next morning iyswim.

I remember reading all those stories like mine and being on loads of buses on the conception board and thinking that there was definitely no hope, even DH had given up - every month at the right time with all sorts of assistance (even tried preseed) and then giving up for six months and I had just a few cbfm sticks so thought I would use them for that month then not buy any more ... Still can't believe it actually. I just can't reiterate it enough - don't give up, keep trying, it only takes once.

rosieposey · 19/08/2012 17:12

Oh yes and I meant to say just use your sticks till the first egg symbol and then reinsert the one from the day before as you will get an automatic egg symbol again the following day. I got it down to about 6/7 sticks per month that way.

Minshu · 19/08/2012 23:07

Oh I don't know what to do, now! I've been trying to get my head round the idea that it might never happen and our beautiful DD will be an only child, as the trying is so demoralising each month, then I read this thread... Grin

Congratulations.

iloveberries · 20/08/2012 06:57

Minshu - we have to believe it will happen. It's hard though. Very hard.

Natnat29 · 20/08/2012 06:59
