Hi there,

Pretty new to all this TTC business!! Came off pill in June and have been lurking around MM trying to make sense of it all Confused

I was wondering whether anyone else doesnt get EWCM before ov? And if anyone has had a BFP without having EWCM?

I dont seem to get any at all and not sure if this is linked to coming off the pill recently or is it that some people just dont get it?

Any advice would be much appreciated!!! Smile

1st rule of TTC - there is no such thing as normal!

Some women produce lots of CM, some hardly any. Personally I don't produce very much, but get a definite increase in what is normal for me, a day or two before ov.

You're still very new to this lark, give yourself a good few months to get to know what is normal for you.

Good luck!

Thanks frankel

You are right! I do need to relax and give it time!

It's hard though isn't it when you want something so much!

I never notice any EWCM and have conceived very quickly whenever we've tried (haven't always managed to hang on to them though Sad) - but I do give nature a helping hand and use Conceive Plus lubricant, which you can get in Boots. You're not meant to use KY or anything like that as they can kill sperm, but CP is specifically formulated to be sperm friendly. It is messy though!

Oh I know what you mean. I've been trying for 2 years now without success Sad

It's hard going, but like you say, when you want something this bad you just keep plugging on.

I was trying for 2 yrs for ds and during that time never noticed any ewcm or any particular change in cm at all throughout the month. I just assumed I was one of those who didn't produce that much. I remember thinking how on earth do people tell when it's ewcm and when it's not as it all looked the same to me. Since being pregnant though, I now seem to have loads at ovulation. Have only just restarted my periods as still breastfeeding and the last two months I could most def tell the difference. The moral of the story is that everyone's different and I don't think there really is a 'normal' Smile

EWCM has been proven to occur approximately more or less three days before ovulation, three days after ovulation and at general times throughout the cycle.

It's not necessarily "fertile" though...

KickTheGuru · 07/08/2012 22:21

That post was meant to be a "they have no idea, really"

Echo what everyone else says - there is no "normal"

Sorry to hear that lurcher and thanks for letting me know about CP, wil def give that a try!

2yrs frankel I'm a bit embarrassed complaining after a couple of months now!!

Thanks though guys for all the replies!! It's nice to know there's no such thing as normal and also that TTC can take some time to happen!!
