very late AF and still no bfp

Hi ladies
Used to post here quite a bit but tbh ttc was getting to me a bit too much so decided to take a break to try and forget about it all for a bit. One month later back I am! TTC 1st child for 9 months now.
AF was due Monday - it's now almost a week late (though does vary by up to a couple of days) and I'm CD 33 or 17 dpo. Yes I could have ovulated late but, for a whole week now, I've felt very PMS-y with sporadic painful boobs, feeling bloated, spotty and a bit sick. I usually get this for a couple of days before AF (accompanied by spotting - none this time), yet this is the 8th day. I have now taken hpt tests - 2 internet cheapies and 2 expensive FR early ones, all with fmu and bfn though on the last one this morning there was a bit of a shadow that with a bit of imagination could be an extremely faint line
1 thing I do have though instead of AF is a lot of clear/white discharge for the last 9 days. Sorry TMI warning - keep feeling a bit wet down below and have to go to the loo to see if AF has finally arrived but it's just more discharge. I'm usually very dry between ov and AF (which I think is normal)
Anyone had similar experiences to share? The suspense is driving me nuts. Don't know if I should just give up on the faint hope that I might be pg and just sit it out and wait for AF, mind you I'm never this late so af or no af there definitely is something going on down there...

Sounds possible and some people don't get positives for a while. In my case, never earlier than 6 weeks.

This happened to me last month. Peak on my monitor cd13 and no AF till Cd42! Not sure what it was and docs wasn't very helpful just sent me off for the normal fertility tests.

Thanks for responses. Update- One week later and still no bfp (doing one every other day) or AF. Today is CD 40, I'm nearly 2 weeks late. Went for blood test at doctor on friday should have result tomorrow - almost certain that I am not pg. So it will be good to know for sure that I am not pg but still very frustrating - just can't understand how this can happen. Anyone had any explanations for very late periods before?
Meanwhile I still have discharge - yellowy - and it seems to be increasing. So frustrating, just want AF to come so that I can look forward to the next cycle. I am supposed to be having a HyFosy test to check my tubes but can't have it until after AF. I think CP is a possibility but surely there would be bleeding. My best guess is that there was a CP and it's taking a while to get out of my system. I had some pg-like symptoms last weekend but nothing now.
happy assume you had lots of bfns before 6 weeks?

Christensen - am on CD38 and also no AF and last bfn was Fri. Just hate the uncertainty. Fx for you!

My knowledge of this stuff is pretty basic but I thought u get bfp with chemical pg? If u only had bfn I don't think it would be it. But I could also be wrong!
I've been late a couple of times (up to 38, am generally 31 days) and was told it was nothing. Very frustrating!
But bloods will def help. Good luck x

Ive had another bfn today and made earliest appt I can to see gp (next Thursday! ), however dsis convinced me to get back to routine and as I am now 6 days Late would begin doing opks. Have just done one and it's strongly positive...any thoughts???

Mrs perhaps you ovulated early this cycle?

mrsA opks detect LH. Which is a very similar shape to HCG. HCG an give a +ve with an OPK, i.e. you could be pregnant. But you could be about to ovulate. I would swi but probably you should see your GP.

OP I got lots of extra discharge before my last 2 BFPs. And it's persisted through out this pregnancy so far (19 weeks).

Well, blood test result said I am not pg. Surprise surprise. Also had small amount of bleeding yesterday - i sometimes get this a day or too before AF so am now just willing AF to finally come. This is day 42 so taking the piss slightly.
Reckon either I didn't ovulate and the cycle messed itself up, or something did happen yet didn't work out.
lol yes for a definite cp I would have had a bfp but because you don't produce hcg until after implantation it could have just failed to implant (and took a while to get out of my system) and i wouldn't know anything about it. I did have a very faint line on a hpt but because I got bfns later I assumed it was a dud (though dh thinks otherwise).
flowerpot I sympathise, I really do. I've been up and down for the last 4 weeks with the not knowing. I got a bit emotional when I realised it really was a no - actually burst into tears briefly in front of my boss who gave me a hug! (she didn't know what was going on) - but feel better now. Definitely SWI. I am now kicking myself that I did not SWI throughout the cycle. We stopped a few days after I thought I had ovulated.

Thanks for the update Chris. One from me...woke at about 4am yelping in pain, so much so that I woke DH which is unheard of! It was the arrival of AF. A strange one lots of old blood and still in so much pain that I feel physically sick, but at least it's here and I know. Tears here too though!

Christelle - sounds like you are going through what I went through last month. 43 day cycle I had in the end and too gave up dtd after what I thought was OV - 20 days earlier!

This month we're dtd throughout month even though CBFM said I peaked on cd14. We've dtd cd 9, 11, 14, 15, 17, 21 and 23 so far.

I'm off for my blood tests today too to see if there's anything wrong with me.

winkle finally got af today - day 44! Bit of relief really. Of course like you not giving up early this cycle, intend to dtd all the way through, wishing us both luck!

I'm on my first cycle after mc so have no idea what's going on. Think I'm 11dpo but I'm so scared of a bfn I won't poas until next week.
