Early pregnancy tests - are there really any positive stories about them?

Yesterday I bought an isisscope and it came with free early HPT's. Having looked at stories on here though, I don't think I've ever read a story about someone getting a positive result from one of these and then going on to have a pregnancy, so .. are the early HPT's just a way for some to make money? or are they effective.

I didn't find them effective last time round. I tried a First Response test, which is supposed to work before your af's due, and I got a negative response. 3 days later another test showed a BFP.

I have always used the cheap, sensitive (ie tests for over 10 units of hcg) tests from the internet and have really had no problems whatsoever - I never understand why people pay so much for the expensive brands to be honest. They said I was +ve when I was pregnant and -ve when I wasn't, which is job done.

They only ever gave me a positive when I was a day late though, I've never had a test tell me I was pregnant before af was due.

I've just done a First response on Sun and got BFP, af due Mon-Wed (today).

I used first response 3/4 days early and got a positive but sadly couldnt keep it. Second time i used anything.

I got a positive using First Response three days before my period was due. I have a long cycle though - 35 days - so maybe that is a contributing factor??

it was the free tast that came with my isis scope that gave me a BFP that turned into my dd. So they do work :)
