Opinions on my chart please

Please could you let me know what you think of my chart. Is it possible i have ovulated and today is an ovulation dip? This is the first month i have had a positive OPK but i thought I would get the positive 24/48 hours before a temp rise? confused.com

I'm a charter and have little luck with OPKs. I did get a positive this month though (with a neg the day before and day after). The surge in my case was on the same day as ovulation ie temp rise the following day. I have checked this out with others and seems not very uncommon (there is some information on FF regarding this, did you see it?). But the same day as the temp rise, no that doesn't seem right.

My best guess is that you haven't ovulated yet and that's just a freak high temp caused by something related to ovulation.

well thanks euro obviously the last bit should read "unrelated to ovulation".

I concur, no ovulation yet. You base line looks to be around the 36.3 mark, so you need to stay above this level for at 3 days to confirm ov.

Don't forget that OPKs are not a guarantee that you will ovulate, they just tell you that your hormone levels are rising and that you might be about to ov.

thanks ladies. I will keep up with the BDing until i get a proper temp rise. Do you think I should manually discard that high temp?

I never mess with the recorded temps, personally.

I agree with the above. Keep having sex but please oh please stop calling it baby dancing! at regular intervals, every other day if you can.
I only ever removed one odd temp - seriously hungover and several hours after lying in! - because sometimes you see a pattern in retrospect.

I'm now even more confused! After a few days of higher temps ff has put my ovulation the day before my +opk ?????

I'm not convinced its right :-( had lots of sex so I'm fairly sure I'm covered from that side of things but trying to figure out my lp which is worryingly short and varying in length (which I think is more likely to be due to inaccurate pin pointing of ovulation).

Any ideas? Would my gp take me seriously if I went with concerns about lp? I'm 30 and been ttc since jan.

Looking at your last chart your LP does look short. As for your GP, as a rule if you are under 35 then it has to be 12 months of trying. You could lie but then if they have been providing you with the pill etc they will know if you are making it up.
I think OV happened on Thursday. Are you taking your temp correctly? That might be giving false readings?

congratulations Pipbin! After I put this mornings temp in my line moved and ovulation is now showing as Thursday

As for the temping, I am doing it as accurately as I can i.e. alarm set for the same time every day, thermometer goes into mouth as soon as i wake, before doing anything else etc etc. There are occasions when I wake naturally prior to the alarm going off, in which case all i do is check what time it is and if its within 30 mins of my alarm time i take my temp there are then, or if its earlier then I go back to sleep until the alarm goes off.

I have just moved areas so have only just registered with a new GP (two weeks ago). I guess it takes time for my medical records to come over so I might be able to lie about how long I have been off the pill. Does anyone know how long records normally take to transfer?
