Just wondering...we are ttc DC2 at the moment and loving a glass of wine or 4 in the garden while the sun is out.

But can't help thinking I maybe shouldn't be, although the ttc could go on for months/years...

What are your thoughts?

I stopped drinking for a few months, but to be honest, since ttc is taking so long, I'm now not going to stop until I get a bfp. I don't drink regularly, but still have a few now and then. The only time I would try and avoid it is around ov, but while you're on your period or just before shouldn't hurt, and the baby would not be affected by the alcohol as early on as the two week wait.

Agree.
I too am slowing down but not stopping it altogether as I'm stressed enough as it is!
BFP good time to stop I think as long as you are not out on the piss every week!

I cut down a bit and tried to be healthier in general for the first year. I then didn't drink at all for the next few months over IUIs and our cancelled IVF cycle. It didn't get me pregnant. I'm now back to enjoying my wine again!

Ironically i never drank much generally (a glass of wine perhaps every six months) and I'm wishing for it now and copious amounts of daiquiri's i didnt give it up whilst TTC as with DS it took 15 months and this one it took 26!! I also didnt give up the foods you arent meant to eat and pretty much had pate twice a week even the day before i got BFP.

I think if you enjoy it have it until you have a reason to stop then do as I have and instruct DP firmly to bring foods such as pate cheese and zinfandel to post natal ward!!Grin

I've stopped smoking. I've cut back on alcohol to about 5 or 6 glasses a week. I very rarely eat crap food. But more so the changes I've made have been regarding stress. I go out of an evening far less, I go to bed early most nights. I feel so much more relaxed and well rested. I didn't realise I was burning the candles at both ends, I just thought I had less energy than other people!
