Another chemical pregnancy??

Please can someone advise me. I think I've just had a second chemical pregnancy.

I'm DPO 14 and just tested negative on a CB digi test after having a faint positive on Wednesday with a FRER.

Pretty upset but other than that should I be worried at having this happen twice (in consecutive cycles)?
I would feel stupid going to the docs if it's not a problem.

Thanks x

PS If anyone wants to convince me I might still be pg and it was a false negative I'm all ears :-/

Morning Molly,

You and I could be twins. Faint + on a first response yesterday. Nothing on CB this morning.

I've had two miscarriages recently although not consecutive. It can happen more than once.

It is possible that this is a chemical pregnancy, if, like me, you test early you're aware of pregnancy earlier. Obviously a lot of pregnancies end very early and usually you wouldn't be aware of them. Downside of these uber sensitive tests. It's a normal albeit sad and upsetting part of TTC that you will become pregnant and for whatever reason the pregnancy doesn't "take".

This isn't an indication of future problems. Man,y many women who have experienced early miscarriage and chemical pregnancies have absolutely nothing to worry about in the future.

In terms of coping, well I want to scream at my body, "pee some fucking hormones or stop with the sore boobs and tiredness." I'm attempting to be practical, different tests have different thresholds of HCG before they show positive. CB may simply not be sensitive enough, I find them rather weak to be honest. Try to look after yourself, put your feet up, and test again in a few days. It's all you can do.

Sorry if I'm chuntering on, your post reflected how I feel this morning and just wanted to offer some support and you're not alone.

MollyMae · 27/07/2012 09:13

Thanks Debeez, your 'chuntering' has made me feel a bit better. I might try to pee some hormones later.
Sorry for your loses x I hope someone make you smile today x

Only other symptom is very achy boobs.

I hope it goes well for you Molly.

AF showed this morning so I'm going to spend my day eating Cheesy Poofs and a Chocolate Orange while cheering some athletes.

Line still there is a good sign. You're not due for a few days yet so I'd take it as a good sign.

MollyMae · 28/07/2012 11:49

Sorry af came. Enjoy your cheesy poofs, I just bought a tub of Ben and Jerry's in case the line disappears!

I like your back up plan. I am going to make today a productive day, I may hoover the attic and spend my day up ladders hanging shelves and the like.

elvisola · 28/07/2012 11:53

Cb Tests are less sensitive than first response. Wait a couple of days before trying again with cb.

Good luck x

Hi Molly. I really hope you are not having another chem preg, if you are still testing positive that is a good sign. I have just had my second chem preg in two months. I kind of knew it would end badly as even though I was 1 day late the test was ridiculously faint. It disappeared completely within 48 hours.

Will keep my fx for you. By the way I spoke to my GP and she was lovely, said if it happened a third time she would refer me to a specialist.

MollyMae · 28/07/2012 13:53

Thanks elvisola.

WhenSheWas - sorry to hear about your chem pregnancies, but its good to hear that your doctor will refer you.

I'm now in a place where I'm trying to decide if I should continue testing early in the future, I'm pretty sure I don't have the willpower to stop myself anyway, but I think I'd rather know that it has happened.

Have broken in to the Ben and Jerry's already Wink
