Hi there. I had a BFP 10 days ago, then AF arrived 6 days later. Bleeding has now finished, but I still have period like pain. Is this normal? Thanks in advance. I'm a newbie to MM and I just love all the support out there.

Hey Swedgirl.

I've no idea to be honest. I've not heard of that at all.

How severe is it?

Swedgirl · 24/07/2012 17:48

Hi Kick, I hope you don't mind me calling you that.
It's like a dull ache, the sort that won't go away despite taking Ibuprofen. Probably to be expected, but I've never been through this before so didn't expect this sort of feeling after AF. Thanks for responding...

No I don't mind at all

Random question but are you sure it's the right "spot"? I mean - you've not maybe pulled a muscle or strained something?

I don't think so... Feels like period pain all over again Sad

Chemical pregnancy is a bit of a misnomer, I think. What you had was an early miscarriage. If you're still having pains it would be worth seeing your GP. Hugs.

Hi suede firstly really sorry about the chem preg, I know how gutting it can be.

I have just had two chem pregs in a row. With the first the actual period was very painful and the aches didn't completely go away after the bleeding. I had quite bad period like pains just before ov (after the first chem preg) and they got worse over the 2ww. I did a test when I was 1 day late (this was the 2nd chem preg) and got a v faint line which disappeared the next day.

Oddly when my period came the af like pains left and I feel normal again now. I have an app to see my GP this week so will let you know what she says.

Hope this makes sense.

Whenshewasbad... So sorry to read your post. One was bad enough but to have two in a row must have been so upsetting. You've really been through it. I hope all goes ok with your GP.

Thanks swedgirl. It is shit but I am counting my blessings. I have one dd so I know I can have a healthy pregnancy, have only just started ttc so I am hopeful for a sticky one sometime in 2012.

At least we know the eggs are being released and the oh's sperm are ok.
