To POAS or not to POAS?

Hey ladies, help! What do I do? On the pill but have felt queasy for a couple of days, bad takeaway or do I POAS? Wouldn't have even considered it but have read too many MN threads where people have got pregnant on the pill and I'm sending myself crazy wondering. Will it even be accurate as I've not exactly missed a period but know this can be down to the pill....arrggghh I'm freaking out and totally confused.

Is this like school where only the popular girls get to join in? (still feel sick so grumpy sarcasm is allowed). Me and the dwarves pukey, crampy and tired are flouncing off and if we do POAS we're not going to tell you the result so there!

I would POAS if I were you (but I just love PingOAS!). My next door neighbour found out she was pg at 35 weeks as she was on pill (and took it all way through pg so still had a 'bleed') so its deof possible. Do it! (and please come back and tell us what happened!)

ListenToYourHeart · 17/07/2012 12:06

If it puts your mind at rest POAS but it might not be accurate if you haven't yet missed your period.

Being on the pill can complicate things. When is your period due?

Purplemonster · 17/07/2012 12:39

Well that's the complicated bit. This is where I have to own up to the antibiotics I took a few week ago and completely forgot about the 'makes the pill not work' bit as I was far too focused on the agonising toothache at the time Blush
So (presumably due to antibiotics) AF was about a week early (I know, I know, I should have paid more attention) so I'm not too sure when I'm actually due again but it's not yet. I'm pretty sure this is all in my head because surely even if I was pregnant it would be far too early for me to feel all up-chucky yet wouldn't it?

Poas poas! Update us please

Purplemonster · 17/07/2012 12:46

Gah! Why can't you all tell me to stop being so bloody silly and that I've probably got a virus? If I promised to POAS in the morning will you offer comforting words and tell me that it's all in my head?

OP posts:
ChuckleMonster · 17/07/2012 12:50

Yes, its all in your head. All of it. No way you could feel pg yet. Defo in your head. All of it. Virus. Might as well POAS anyway though, its such fun!!

Alabama100 · 17/07/2012 12:51

We promise.....now poas and update please! :-) good luck getting the result you hope for!

Purplemonster · 17/07/2012 12:55

I promise, I WILL poas, just to save myself from going insane satisfy your curiosity but think it would be too early to tell anyway so don't get your hopes up. I feel all excited and a bit worried about the let down when this all turns out to be a stomach bug. I've never poas before Grin

Ahh go for it!!

Do you want it to be positive or negative?
being nosey

InchyInchy · 17/07/2012 13:09

You've never POAS before!! I wish I could say that I've probably spent a small fortune on my POAS habit :)

I felt pg quite early on but put off testing for ages because I thought it wasn't possible (due to fertility problems) but 10 weeks yesterday - with absolutely everything crossed :D

Love the grumpy sarcasm - definitely allowed!

Purplemonster · 17/07/2012 13:34

No, I'm a total newbie to all this.
Really want it to be positive but trying not to get my hopes up (and wondering if all these symptoms are totally psychosomatic just because I WANT it to be true). Me and the OH have been talking about starting TTC in a few months so it wouldn't be any kind of disaster, just a bit of a shock for him. Have purchased sticks to PO, will let you know tomorrow (might be a newbie but have lurked around here long enough to know to use FMU - smug). It's his birthday tomorrow so everything crossed for a birthday surprise he really isn't expecting Grin

POAS!!!!!,

InchyInchy · 17/07/2012 13:53

Thank you! :D

Make sure and let us know tomorrow morning! Sending babydust your way :)

Alabama100 · 17/07/2012 15:45

Yay! I'm excited for you! Update tomorrow!

Alabama100 · 18/07/2012 11:19

Any news? X

Excitedbutscared84 · 18/07/2012 11:28

Me too have been watching this tread and was waiting for news :)

only4tonight · 18/07/2012 11:42

I need to know! Did you poas? Didn't you know happy news from strangers makes me happy, and that I need it to get through the day?

Purplemonster · 18/07/2012 12:20

BFN Sad
Still feel ill and now I'm more pissed off about it because it's not for a good reason. Feel a bit daft because I knew it probably wasn't that but it still got my hope up so now I feel sick AND disappointed.

OP posts:
InchyInchy · 18/07/2012 14:02

It's horrible getting a BFN - Could it still be early?

Purplemonster · 18/07/2012 16:08

I think it's more imaginary than early Blush but never mind, I shall put it from my mind for a couple of months until we're actually TTC, then will allow myself to turn back into an irrational, obsessive symptom spotting and compulsive peeing on sticks monster. Until then, I shall be perfectly sensible and not think of it again. Honest Grin

...and at least I can get shitfaced at this weekend with impunity.

OP posts:
Alabama100 · 18/07/2012 17:36

Sorry it was a bfn....I used to test early when I was pg with my now 8 month old, worth testing again in a few days? I got a bfn the day before my bfp.

If it is still a bfn then cheer yourself up with a not pg celebration this weekend - lots of banned cheeses, sushi, alcohol etc and soon enough once you start trying you will get that bfp :-)

Purplemonster · 19/07/2012 11:26

I like your thinking and I'm at a wedding this weekend so alcohol is definitely on the cards, only thing is, after nausea being my contant companion for the last 5 days, I'm not sure how much I'm going to enjoy it.
