Ive heard all the arguments against taking these....however, would still love to hear positive successes on either of these? Are they taken separately, or can they be taken together? How much doseage and when in your cycle? Thankyou in advance. X

Can't help with the soy, but I took Agnus Castus to try and regulate my irratic cycles due to PCOS. It took it a few months then cycles were down to around 32 days (from 40+) then took three cycles to get pregnant (after temping and looking for other ovulation signs). I am certain i was not ovulating much if at all before i started taking it. I took it throughout the cycle but halved the dosage suggested by the bottle (holland and Barratt) so two tablets a day. Took it for about a week after I got my BFP. Have heard good things about the liquid version too, but this wasn't available I don't think a few years ago.

I did some research on medical databases and was happy that it was safe, with no long term consequences, and felt the potential benefits outweighed and risks.

Did you take throughout the month, or just up until ovulation? Heard so many conflicting opinions! Cycle regular as clockwork- 26/28 days, without fail. Unexplained infertility diagnosis is leading me to look for answers elsewhere. I am so pleased it worked for you. Hope you don't mind me asking- how old were you, when it worked for you? Big 40 fast looming for me! Think I may have left it too late! No dc as yet, doubtful of any in future to be honest. OPKs detect ovulation mid cycle - suffered mc at 8.2 weeks in march 2011- since then nada.all tests came back as perfect for both of us. This is looking quite bleak isn't it?!

Wishing sorry to hear of your loss. I know exactly where you are coming from. I too have unexplained infertility, am 38 so time isn't on my side and am willing to give this a go. My cycle is very regular too, OV CD 10, 14 day LP, AF arrives CD24, like clockwork.

I have been taking both on recommendation by my reflexologist. I take 20 drops of Agnus Cactus in water on a morning throughout my cycle, with a break when on AF. I have taken the Soya Isoflavones this cycle, 50mg tablets, 3 tablets D2 & D3 then 4 tablets D4, D5 & D6. Am 4 DPO now so should know more in about 8 days!!

HTH & Good luck

Sorry about your loss too.

I was 29 when I started taking Agnus Castus and 30 when conceived. Took AC all cycle long, as this is what I had heard was recommended. I think it takes a while to get into your system so I thought stopping it would just take longer. I don't believe there are any known adverse effects in pregnancy but as it influences hormones I just stopped it and thankfully everything turned out well.

It is probably worth taking it for a couple of months and seeing if your cycle changes at all. Good luck.

Jelly and lolly: thankyou for your heartfelt advice - it means so much- especially as infertility is the modern taboo. I shall take AC throughout my cycle then- stopping for AF- and upon your advice take SI from cd2-6. The way I see it: I really have nothing to lose. :-) x
